GDT: Canucks host the Avs - 7pm - VS
Mixed feelings on this one - if the Avs win, they're only one more win from bouncing the Flames - but then we only need 2 more wins to hit 50.
More importantly, it's a matter of who will be resting for "Team Inconsistent". We're hurtin' and need some rest.
Canuck fans are funny - we have one of the best teams ever, with a chance to hit 50 wins for the first time, but still worry. Much of the worry comes from injuries - and Ehrhoff could be the straw that breaks our backs. The season ends in 5 days - so who knows what our lineup will be heading in to the playoffs.
For me, the only excitement left in the regular season is if Henrik will take the scoring title.

Edler isn't hurt, it's Ehrhoff. I know what you mean. I think it's because we have a good team that can go far, if we didn't have the injuries to our blueline that we are having right when it's crucial to be healthy.
Tonight, I wear my lucky Canucks socks and stay the hell away from GM Place. I notice when the Avs play us and I wear those and not in attendance, we tend to win. (superstition coming to the fold) So I will oblige. Screw the Flames and the Avs, we're in it to win it. So we better start playing accordingly.
Go Canucks go. Raycroft starting tonight?

Probably not. Lou tonight and against Calgary. Raycroft against San Jose.LotusBlossom wrote: Go Canucks go. Raycroft starting tonight?
I would like for us to be the ones that put the nail in Calgary's coffin in the last game of the season, and to do that we likely need to win tonight. Win tonight and against Calgary, mail it in vs San Jose.
Day one of O'Briens Get out of Jail Free card. Hopefully he doesn't try to get too fancy because that is how he gets himself in to trouble. (Well that and boozing it up at the Roxy).

Play super trap hockey and get Avs to the SO.
Win there.

I'm cheap, I know, but I love that OT breakaway by Daniel. Has their ever been a slower elite player... ah who cares. It was a LITTLE curious to watch though.

Not a bad effort, but I guess the good news is that the Flames are done.

Since when did Boom Boom Bieksa become a Sally???
Worst moment of the game: Bieksa NOT dummying Galiardi for running Demitra after the whistle on an OBVIOUS offside. Seriously, wtf?!? He had a moment before the linesmen got in there and just stood their holding him and oooooooooh "glaring" at him w/ the evil eye. Brutal. Dropping the gloves & dummying Galiardi would have sent the right message esp since it was a meaningless game for the Canucks.....and they lost anyways. Almost ruined the game for me. Trust me, Bieksa of a few years ago would have destroyed that punk! ....and it would have been a real team building moment just when this club needed a spark w/ playoffs looming.
Opportunity lost.
Opportunity lost.

I disagree Clam
Game was close, Refs could go crazy, and you definitely don't want to end up with a suspension.
KB4 can muck it up, we all know that. If he backs out during the playoffs, then maybe we can say something more.
Either way,
Flames are out! Time to Celebrate!!!!!

I have to agree, Bieksa would have ended up in the box. Not that the end result matters anyway.

I dunno Clam, I had a good look at that stare from where I was sitting and I'll admit that it kinda freaked me out. Hell I was scared and I wasn't even in the rink. The girl I was sitting with I had to hold her hand, but thinking back I'm not sure if it was more for her benefit or mine. I don't think they'll be hitting Demetra late again any time soon.
As for the tie, I think they picked it up a bit considering it was another mean nothing game not to bad. Lots of great opportunities that just missed. Their goaler sure did a good job in the after game showdown exhibition though.

I agree with Clam on this one ... pummel the clown. Who cares if you take a penalty? The outcome of this game meant little anyway. Suspension?? for what, Jelly? This team obviously needs something to pull it together and create some emotion.
