GDT: Canucks @ Chicago - 5:30 - TSN, NHLN-US

Post by Cornuck »

Well, we all know what happened last time we played in Chicago. This should be the game to wake this team up, if it isn't - then we're in for another 6 weeks of gloom. In this poorly constructed metaphor, Luongo is our groundhog.

The Hawks are off to a good 5-2-1 start, so winning won't be easy. Chicago's missing Eager, Burish and of course, Hossa (why didn't I know this when I picked him in the pool??) - but they still have enough talent to score. Also, they're doing a good job on the PK.

Time to test the faith.

If ever there was a game that Luongo could win for us... it's this one. Huet hasn't been inspiring, and Luongo will probably have to be for us.

I expect the Canucks to come out pissed off, knowing these guys ended our season last year.

3-1 Vancouver. :)

I'm thinking we'll see Antti Niemi (.912 / 1.73)

Hawks 5-2.

If they come out skating, the Canucks are in trouble.

Well, I turned the TV on 5 minutes into the game and happy to see it 0-0.

I suppose that makes me a pessimist. Or a realist. Or a bad fan.

No sense psychoanalyzing this to much.

I still maintain, Samuelsson & Bieksa are the worst no.1 PP point tandem in the entire NHL.......they look dreadful, once again. Schnieder can't get here soon enough for me. Man do I miss the days of Reinhart and later on Brown.

Sweet shot by Grabner, good gutsy effort by Kesler.

A goal off one of our players? Check
SOB stupid useless penalty? Check
Blown Refs call costing a 2-0 break away? Check
TSN crew sneaking in leaves talk during broadcast? Check

Oh, we won this time!

Grabner, nice shot or not, I don't know, lack of a good angle at the shot, EVERYONE was looking at Kesler. Props to both of them. GRK line is fast, and their using it to their advantage. That's great. Still no love for Grabner though.

Rypien out of line up and it's noticeable. No one is as fearless as him (Other then Johnson's shot blocking) We miss that presence, Rypien VS Byfuglien?

And Willie Mitchell deserves the first star, he basically ripped the momentum out of the Hawk's hands. Who says hitting is worthless? Don Cherry for PM!
This signature hates SOB as much as the guy who wrote this signature.

What a sweet hit. The only thing I didn't like about it was it wasn't Kane of Byfuglien on the other end.
