Canucks visit Blues - 5:30pm - Snet
So...... is the team that impressed the hell out of us earlier in the year 'back' - or is the team of nightmares and nausea ready for an encore?
I'd like to think that they'll play a solid, cautious road game tonight against a bottom feeder. "Bottom feeder"? They are only 3 wins behind us... Thanks to Buttman's 'parity' - the race in the west will be tight one with lots of horses at the finish line. Games like tonight will make or break our chances to face San Jose in the first round. Hopefully the boys have it in them tonight. We should also see a good goaltender battle between Luongo and Mason.

We should (with emphasis on the SHOULD) beat St. Louis. Sundin and Kesler are playing out of their minds, Demitra has been decent and so have the Sedins. Luongo is still a concern and there have been far too many turnovers, but we're getting better. It's not easy to steamroll the Hawks, and we did just that. We can't play down to our opponents and another win would go a long way to solidifying a playoff position.
I say we win 3-1. Salo, Pyatt and Demitra with the goals. Backes for them. Louie first star.

Keys to the game - Penalty Killing - keep it simple stupid.
Goaltending - Luongo must build on his 45 minute efforts, and get back on a role.
Secondary Scoring - 2nd line contiunues to be brilliant. However, I also look to the Burrows/Bernier line.Chris Mason handed the keys to the Bluesmobile. He has shown to slip once he's officially been given the #1 job, lets hope that starts tonight.
Go Canucks!

Hopefully we'll see a well played road game with the emphasis on defence first .. and good penalty killing. With 3 lines capable of scoring the Canucks are going to be hard to defend against.. I expect to see more heroics from Kesler/Sundin/Demitra and with less pressure on them the twins should put in goal or two.. prediction ??
Canucks 3 Blues 2.. Sundin, Sedin, Bernier for Canucks.. Tcachuk, Backes for Blues. Blues will outshoot Canucks but Luo will outplay Mason..

Before we get too excited, remember that the Blues are 6-1-2 in their last 10 and Chris Mason is red hot.
This won't be a freebie.

Let's see... No Paul Kariya, Andy MacDonald, Eric Brewer and Erik Johnson.
3-1 Blues in a snorefest.

Hmmmm, the Blows tonight.....
I agree with the 3-1 win and a Salo goal. Kesler and Daniel (since I have Daniel on my proline) with the other.

I think I have got about 12 predictions wrong in a row. So hoping for another wrong prediction:
4-2 Blues.
4-2 Blues.

Boy, Luongo really needs to start picking it up.
Being down 2-0 to St. Louis is bad, but not as bad as those goals were.
Edit: 3-2 Jesus Luongo is fighting it tonight, but at least we have a chance

You know, the Canucks are not playing particularly well, but I still get the feeling they can pull this through.the toucan kid wrote:Boy, Luongo really needs to start picking it up.

I don't think they're playing poorly, but I agree this one isn't over.

Bieksa's goin for the Gordie Howe.
It's a close one, they're in the game against a hot team and they could pull it out.

At what point do we say that we have 2 scoring lines?

Man this streak has been the first time ever that I'm blaming Louie for losses. That 4th goal was weak.
Edit: Man I didn't think we'd pull that one off. We have scored 13 goals in 2 games
