GDT: Canucks host the Preds - 7:30 - TSN, NHLN-US
Ok, we've had the slump, we've had the break. What next?
Canucks are hosting a team that is about as cold as they are. The Preds as 3-9 in their last 12. This is the game where the team has to make a statement that they are embarrassed by their recent play and have no excuses. .....or, extend the skid.
I really have no idea what to expect from this 'team' anymore.

The list of excuses is officially over. We either show up between now and the end of February or we're sellers at the deadline.

I'm with you on the first two thirds dr. dork, but even though I agree we SHOULD be sellers if we don't pick it up, there's no way it happens. We can dispel that notion and save our fingers the typing later on.
The team is healthy, Sundin has had his 'training camp' period and is now up for legitimate scrutiny if he doesn't perform, Luongo has had his tune up and needs to be ready to do his thing, and Salo is back. It has to start now and I think it will.

Agree , this is the team that makes or breaks.. with Luongo and Sundin in game shape plus Salo I,m calling for a 3 - 1 win.

I hate the Preds. I hate being sick like I am. Canucks better win, or I'll be bitter.

Outshot 12-4 in the first - hopefully the next 40 will be better.

I don't get to/have to say this often, but man that clearing attempt by Kesler was PATHETIC.

This team is f*cking embarrassingly dumb out there.
Dumb.
Lazy.
The powerplay has the collective creativeness of a sloth.
The breakout is predictable.
Unimpressed with Sundin.
Bieksa and Edler can't clear the zone.
O'Brien is a meathead.

I'm done for now.

This is just a mess right now. I firmly believe this team has the horses to get the job done but it looks like the horses just don't want to run. As bad as Sundin was last night, can you just blame him? Are some players on this team in a snit because our unrestricted free agents haven't been signed? Are they upset because Sundin walked into the team halfway thru the season? Have they given up on AV?
I don't have all the answers but this team is just refusing to play right now.

Yeah its not like you can say Sundin LOST us the game but you could also say he didn't WIN the game either....i've been unimpressed. I hate to say it though, I htink the coach has to go.

Hey, I was out at the Giants-Medicine Hat game tonight. Great game, Giants trailing 3-2 starting the third, came out relentless and scored a pair to score a nice 4-3 win in a very entertaining game.
So what happened in Canuckland?

Yep, I was too busy watching the Victoria Salmon Kings lose 2-0. But at least they've won 15 straight or so this year... so there will be some professional playoff hockey in the spring.
Not surprised by the NHL outcome.
I don't have an explanation for it, we lose to good teams, bad teams, and every team in between. Nashville scores the most PP goals they have in one game in nearly two years apparantly. This team is playing terrible hockey... coach, players, management, I dunno what it is. Even the most steadfast fans have to realize this season is quickly flushing away.
There's a whole list of things I'm pissed about, after watching only the third (why isn't Sundin with the Sedin's, why is Raymond the only shitty player riding the pine, why aren't they going Kesler/Sedin lines back and forth throughout the third....), I just don't really care. If these guys won't get up to play, I'm not wasting my time watching them. At the moment they suck.

You know this has to be crossing everyone's mind right now, but I think AV is done pretty soon. This is a horrible losing streak and something has to give. It's too bad because I'm an AV fan.
