GDT: Canucks @ Atlanta - 4:30 - SNet

Post by Cornuck »

Tonight the Canucks visit Atlanta [12-21-5 (29th)] which gives us a chance to get 2 in a row. After playing .500 hockey to start the season, Atlanta is 4-11-3 in this quarter.

The two factors tonight will stopping Kovalchuk and their power play (currently 9th best in the league). On the other hand their PK is ranked 30th. Game strategy for the Canucks? Stay out of the box and draw them into taking penalties. We've won our last 3 in Atlanta and tonight should make it 4. Jason LaBarbera had a great first game with the Canucks against Nashville and should be back in net tonight. Also, let's hope that Wellwood snaps out of his 3 game pointless streak.

Quote of the day: "We lose again, so it really doesn't do anything," said Kovalchuk. (Sound like a guy who needs a chance of scenery? Beautiful mountains and water scenery? Northwest coast scenery?)

Labarbera is not a for sure start yet. TSN reported last night that he was suffering from extreme cramping in his legs and is questionable. The Canucks should pull out a win tonight, but yet again back to backs are tough.

He will play, you know he will play.

But seriously i guess he really want to play after a first win and his "cheesy" claim of dreaming to play for the Canucks.

I'm in for sure tonight, beat'em bust'em, no matter how.

Nice to see Hank get one after the team gives up a shorty.

It's disgusting to see how many empty seats there are there.

I find it more disgusting how they left Kovalchuk alone on the equalizer, 2 men focussing on the one behind the goal is exactly one too much.

Do the Canucks have the worst shootout record in the league in the past two seasons? Our shooters have just been terrible in the clutch in the shootout.

Burrows was shitty but Dannyboy in the end had a nearly perfect shot if there wasn't the end of the shaft somewhere, damn...

I'm not exactly happy with just one point, maybe i should because the tying goal was pure luck too. First i thought Daniel made it with his butt.

What makes me more nervous is the absence of Ohlund, hopefully it's not too worse.

At least we got a point. 4 straight penalties in the 2nd half didn't help.

On the Team, they were asking "Why Daniel? He's 3 of 15" Why not Henrik who had the 2 goals?

Then they have no clue. I can't complain about Daniel's attempt, as i said a nearly perfect shot which goes in 99 out of 100 cases.
