Not sleeping, but may as well be

I'm thinking that even though we've had a good run lately, this won't be our day. Road game, early start, Luongo had a game off, not too confident on this one.

On the other hand, we're facing Sabourin today (but he's a had good few games).

Yeah I'm not too confident about our chances this afternoon. Whoever decided a game at 11am/2pm was a good idea deserves to be shot.

Wow, what a start to the game. Cooke is a puke. I have no problem with the hit itself but you should know when you drop a big hit like that you have to fight. Big ups to Hansen for stepping up.

I don't recall Matt Cooke being such a pussy in all his days with the Canucks.

So much for watching Cooke play his former team - Too bad Hansen had to go.

Well fuck.

Luongo looks like he's gunna be hurt for a while. Time to see what a Schneider/Sanford combo can do.

I pray that isn't a ligament injury that Luongo got.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

Time to see what a Schneider/Sanford combo can do.
If I'm not mistaken, Schneider is the best goalie NOT in the NHL at the moment. Obviously he's not Luongo, but I'm sure glad we didn't dump him off during the offseason like so many people (myself included) thought would be good for forward depth. I think if we can stay a game or two over .500 while Luongo is out, we should still be in the mix come playoff time.

What was the reason for the fight...? Cooke hitting someone...? Who...? And why did they get misconducts? Details please!

I was hoping Sandford would get the start after his performance in the last game. Now I really wish he had gotten the start. This is bad news for Luongo. The way he skated off the ice has me thinking it will be more than a couple of weeks before we see him again.

Sandford gets elbowed in the head and there's no call? Where is that team toughness from the start of the season? I guess since we rarely play Pittsburg it doesn't matter to the Canucks.

I forget who Cooke hit, but he was challenged once, declined, and then the pairings started and Hansen 'convinced' Cooke to 'fight'. Since they were the second fight going on, they got ejected.

Big news now is Luongo and this game is almost secondary now. I don't mind having Sanford in for (hopefully) a few games or even a week or two. Can we bring Schneider up without worrying about waivers, etc?
