GDT: Canucks @ Islanders - 4pm - SN (HD)

Post by Cornuck »

The Canucks start a road trip and a 'brutal section' of the schedule with a visit to Long Island.

Here's the Tale of the Tape from THN.com

Let's start with a win here, 'cause it's not going to get any easier for a while...

GO CANUCKS GO!!

Edit & Sidenote : How would Trent Hunter look alongside the Sedins?

Demitra with the first quick goal on assists from the Sedins - it's the "Put all your eggs in one basket line"!

Great start, the team seems to be flying tonight. Kesler was lucky not to get hit too hard by that flying net.

I'm going to love this week. Early Canuck games for me.

Yeah same here. I'll guiltily admit that I liked that the Toronto/Vancouver game was at 7 out here, means I had the rest of the night to gloat about it.

Ouch... shots 12-1 Isles in the second... luckily we had a good start (for 45 seconds)... interesting to see how far that will take us. Luongo might need another shutout to get us two points if this trend continues.

1-1

How are the Isles dominating us right now? This is just depressing to watch.

So much for the shutout... :(

16-5 in shots now... means 4-4 the last five minutes. Hopefully we are back in it again! Anyone watching?

My jerk off friends that are Leaf fans had the nerve to say Canucks must have been nervous when the leaves started their comeback.

In other news, Doug Weight is still a douche bag.

Lose in the shootout.

On a brutal road trip, it would have been nice to start it with a win. Especially against the Islanders.

Sorry to say this as the rose-coloured-glasses-crowd isn't going to like this, but...

Tonight's game is exactly why the Canucks just aren't going anywhere. A very beatable opponent can't be put away because half our forwards couldn't score in a cathouse with a $100 bill. Raymond was awful and is just getting worse, Pyatt turned another shade of invisible, and the Sedins cycled the puck until it vomited. It was all downhill after the first 49 seconds, and against a team like the Isles that's simply unacceptable. Maybe Wellwood can add a few pounds back on before the next game, it couldn't hurt. :(

Earlier tonight my wife asked me, "Who are we playing, and are they any good?". I answered, "the Islanders, and no, they are not very good at all, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttt.........."

Agree completely.. Raymond looked terrible tonight.. a speedster that takes 2 penalties?? Weak power play.. Forwards not coming back in time for defensive play in the second.... Rose colored glasses time - Demitra looked good... Kesler is the MAN... Luongo outstanding ... Oh well 1 pt is better than zip...
