242 minutes and change.
The equivalent of just over 4 games without allowing a goal. That is a damn good streak, likely one that we won't see beaten in our lifetimes.
242:36 to be exact. That is damn impressive.

I didn't know it was on Vs (not that I get it on my limited 32 channel cable, but the bar gets it)

Ah it probably isn't Cornuck, shot in the dark, but I listened to many games on 1040 while I was 2 1/2 years in Perth Australia. I know life as an expat. And I've spent 3 nights in Omaha; not exactly hockey central!
Come on Canucks, lets win this #uckin shootout!!!

Ugggh.... that was depressing. So much for that. Avs were lucky to get the two points out of that, but at the same time that was a back and forth game and either team could've won. Fun to watch, shitty outcome.
Re: Colorado at Vancouver, TSN 7:00 PM
should have been a 5-1 canucks win but the inability to score on the PP kills us. this team will go nowhere without it but hey we got the loser point. Im sure canuck nation will be happy with that. Im not. this was a lost point. a big one
and noone anymore can say.... oh its early in the season...... its a point..... we just won 3 games straight. games like this are must wins in this NHL.
oh well. leaves on Sat....

ended Luongo's streak
ended our 3 game winning streak
ended our division streak
still in first with a game in hand.

...and, a huge game on Saturday, not so much season-on-the-line-wise, but more grudge-match-against-the-bastards-from-the-east-lets-show-them-who's-boss-in-The-Garage-wise. I'll be there, along with 4000 cashed-up bastards who wouldn't know the way to GM Place with a GPS and a tour guide. Canuck Nation will just have to be a little more vocal on Saturday to drown out the pretenders on national TV. I'm serious about this. We cannot allow the Leaf fans to have any sort of presence, in a 4:00 start across the country. I was privy to the pathetic past when Habs fans would invade the Pacific Coliseum and make us forget where the game was. I've been to Yankee games in Oakland, and (happily) Jays games over the July 1st weekend in Minnesota, and teams get pumped when their fans drown out the home crowd.
Let it not happen on Saturday, when the overactive Laffans assert their voice.

Again, the Canucks fail to execute/capitalize on the scoring chances. We've seen Hank whiff twice, Dan once, and Bernier get his own stick caught in his skates. Shades of last year...

Colorado couldn't finish either, so maybe it should have been 5-5mattola wrote:should have been a 5-1 canucks win but the inability to score on the PP kills us. this team will go nowhere without it but hey we got the loser point. I think the positives are killing that 5 on 3 late in the third, the continued great play of Luongo, and at least we are getting chances. Wellwood should have had about 3 assists, and that line looked dangerous, but again, no finish.
And I hate to say it, but our 4-th line looked dominated at times especially by Tucker.

Didn't watch the game and just listened the last 10 minutes 'til penalty shooting on Team1040.
But regarding the penalty minutes, is the "rivalry" officially over ?
Seems so. A lot of new faces in both teams within the last 4/5 years...

that was a low-emotion game for sure.
Colorado's 4th line was their best, no one really stood out for us.
Wellwood/Pyatt combo showed flashes.
