Based on the fact that both sides wont agree with the other sides proposals, and the fact that neither are willing to come up with a compromise, whos gonna cave first?
I say the PA only becasue at the moment the way its going metaphorically, the owners have enough provisions to last out the entire seige, on the other hand the players are starting to run low.... and look to be thinking about throwing in the towel

Assuming the owners have it in them to stay locked out for the full two seasons, I believe the union will cave. They'll have to.
The thing I'd love to know is whether or not these rumours of 70% of the PA would vote in favour of going back to play if there was a secret ballot are true. If that's the case, Bob Goodenow will be given his walking papers sooner or later.
38 years without a Stanley Cup and counting.

The players also play for the love of the game & a large chunk of them care about the fans.
To the most of the owners its business & status. McCaw could give 2 shitzin about the game. There's plenty more like him.
The players will cave.

Bettman get's canned july/aug. '05 Brian Burke is hired as his replacement prior to the "05/'06 season and has the deal done in 2 weeks.

Sounds like an overwhelming vote the players will cave ... my thoughts as well.
Both Bettman and Goodenow should be axed though ... they have really buggered up hockey and its reputation for a few years now.

i really think that its foolish to give the leader of the winning side a bonus because both have dragged this crap out way too long and deserve the axe

Its what the owners want though, so he's delivered if he gets a cap. It was cap at all costs. Fuck, at this point I wish we had kept Zeigler all along.
