LIVE FROM THE PRESS BOX: SIGN OF THE TIMES

Post by B. Mackin »

Not sure what message a fan from Terrace is trying to deliver in a corner of the lower bowl at GM Place. A large, beach towel-sized sign reads "Luongo for President."
President of what?
Unfortunately, this is a constitutional monarchy, not a republic.
Or, is he suggesting Chris Zimmerman step aside?
Whatever, Luongo doesn't deserve a promotion after the first goal of the game.

LIVE FROM THE PRESS BOX: IS HIS FIRST NAME COSMO?

Post by B. Mackin »

Evidently, the Canucks' mascot Fin has no first name.
He is here with his significant other -- wife? girlfriend? sister? -- who also has FIN on her Canucks' jersey.
What's her first name?
What's his first name?

LIVE FROM THE PRESS BOX: LUONGO-A-GO-GO?

Post by B. Mackin »

Roberto Luongo has allowed two goals on nine shots during a game in which he has had little work against the notorious "Mild." I'd say he's a nominee for early departure if Minnesota gets a 3-0 lead in this period.

levelheaded wrote:I hate games like this. I freaking love watching Canucks/Wild games, however I have to get up at 4:45 tomorrow morning to catch a 7am flight. I'm not sure if I should keep watching or go to bed. I almost would've preferred it if we'd got out of that period down 3-0.

Almost.
PP with 6 min's left in the 2nd...if the Canucks score...maybe stay awake....if not....goodnight

LIVE FROM THE PRESS BOX: BACKSTROM TO THE FUTURE?

Post by B. Mackin »

Two goals allowed in 16 seconds by Niklas Backstrom to allow the Canucks a lead turns the focus away from Roberto Luongo's earlier soft goals.
Shall we see Josh Harding make an appearance sooner than later?

LIVE FROM THE PRESS BOX: BRAD YES, BURROWS NO

Post by B. Mackin »

Brad Isbister gets the goal originally credited to Alexandre Burrows. Burrows now has an assist where there once was none.
