GDT: 12/10/07 Canucks vs. Kings

Post by Ronning's Ghost »

Looks like this is my big chance to realise a long-time ambition and start a game-day thread.

I think predictions have become part of the tradition, so 5-1 Canucks. Kopitar starts the scoring early with a shot from a bad angle that takes a funny bounce. Kesler answers first for the Canucks, followed by a barrage from what we used to enjoy calling the Swedish Touch line : one each from Daniel, Henrik, and Naslund. Salo scores late on a power play.

Ah, rookie mistake. I'm supposed to include "7:30 on Sportsnet" in the thread title.

3-1 Canucks. Salo, Nazzy and Burrows. Kesler will fly out there but won't score. Is he not the most exciting Canuck right now?

Damn, looks like I won't be able to catch this one. I've got an exam at 9 tomorrow morning, and tonight's game starts at 10:30 for me.

Oh well, I say 4-2 LA. They've been playing very well lately. Ohlund and Ritchie will be our goalscorers.

Why is Sanford in net? Is it because of back to backs with the Sharks and Ducks on Wednesday and Thursday?

They're monarchists. It's the only explanation.

Well I got the score right, sounds like it was a real stinker. Glad I didn't watch. I'm back in Vancouver for the next game, let's hope they show a bit more get up and go for it.

Tough game mentally for what some are calling the 5th road game of 8.

To "lose" Louie to start, then Issy early in the first created a big uphill climb.

Would I like to see Dustin Brown on the Nux ? A goal and credited with 7 hits.

Time to re-group and see if this bit of adversity results in the same kind of effort the team showed when they lost Salo & BXA.

Might be a bit tougher without the "size" of Roberto (and Isbister's 225 lbs) against a couple of "big" teams in Anaheim and San Jose.

I'd love to see Brown in a Nucks uni; pretty good skill package, size, and hits anything that moves... Now, how exactly do we get Mike Keenan to be the GM for Los Angeles?
