GDT:11/27/07 Nucks/Ducks The Return of Bert 7PM TSN
Bertuzzi is back, finally. Maybe after tonight we can all move on.
Lost in all of this is the fact that tonight is the first time we'll play the Ducks since they knocked us out last year, which to me is far more important.
I say the media around Bertuzzi plays down the significance and the Canucks come out flat. 3-1 Ducks, Getzlaf with a pair, Kunitz with the other. Salo will reply for us. Bertuzzi will be pointless, but have a strong game.

Well, technically the two teams played two exhibition games in the pre-seasonlevelheaded wrote: Lost in all of this is the fact that tonight is the first time we'll play the Ducks since they knocked us out last year...
Not sure if you heard, but the hype prompted a media frenzy in Vancouver around 10 am this morning. Bert faced many of his "friends" in the local media to answer questions with Burke by his side and apparently Tsn will do a one on one tonight before the leaves/Canadiens game (Nux/Dux game to follow)levelheaded wrote: I say the media around Bertuzzi plays down the significance

I meant the significance of the fact it's the first regular season game since we were knocked out.smalien wrote:Not sure if you heard, but the hype prompted a media frenzy in Vancouver around 10 am this morning. On the bright side the Ducks are somewhat less dangerous than when we were annihilated by them in the playoffs without the likes of S. Niedermayer and Selanne. On the not so bright side we have done basically nothing to improve our team from last year's. Here's to hoping that their loss is our gain.
Cynical as I am, I am going to predict a 4-2 loss. Bertuzzi with a goal and an assist as a stick-it to the press (not that I would begrudge him that). Getzlaf, Kunitz and Pronger with the other goals; Naslund and Pyatt with goals for the Nucks.

btw, for those cable-less and interested:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/scoreboard
has the game (click on "watch live), although you need to be in the US (or have a proxy).
hoping the boys will be pumped up to test themselves vs the SC champs...3-1 nucks
Is kesler-isbister-pyatt supposed to be AV's version of Pahlsson-Moen-R Niedermeyer?
this is another part of the story which hasn't been really picked up (i think, i admit i haven't followed as closely): the way the Ducks have become a model for how to build a hockey team.

There hasn't been much response from the fans over Bertuzzi. Should we think maybe it's all behind us now? Any thoughts on the return of Bert?

LIVE FROM THE GAME: NUCK HUNTING
Shots on goal 15-5 for the mightier Anaheim Ducks who are outplaying all Canucks except for Roberto Luongo. Todd Bertuzzi has had little impact on the game so far.

Frickin' TSN!!
I just got home and fired up the PVR and had to sit through the bloody OT in TO.
Leave it up to the Toronto Sports Network to eff-up my game.
I miiss the first half of period 1.
I couldn't care less how badly the Habs beat up the Lafes.
How I hate that town and everything about it.

A - I dont want to hear any more trade rumors involving Ryan Kesler...the Canucks would never get back what Keslers potential is.
B - Weak non call on the Pronger cheap shot... Keslers hasnt come back yet.
C - Linden is a full step behind todays pace of play.
