A video library for fights, highlight goals and saves, etc.

I think the first concern is "who has the rights to the media"?

If I remember, Brian is careful in this area.

I say if anyone has clips that we all give them to Brian and Brian could then just compile it into a giant list so the work is shared and the whole thing jsut isnt dumped on the shoulders of Brian

Guys if there were no copyright issues I would be all over the idea. The problem is this site was already warned about copyrighted material deom the AP.

How bad can it get? Well AP told us we could be fined $500.00 U.S. for each photo that we use. We don;t come close to getting that kind iof revenue for the site. :)

Sorry but I can't see it happening.

Well, how do collective sites like

http://www.hockeyfights.com/
and
http://hockey-fights.com/

do it then? What hoops are they jumping through not to get fined?

I am just curious, is all.

They've got Heatley's lawyers.

Simple, they do it illegally. They obviously have not been warned, or don't care, or have the money to pay the fines, I don't know.

I am sure if the proper authorities were notified, they would get a letter from a lawyer failry quickly. I am not one to rat however. I would sure like to know why and how we were singled out.

I know of several sites that have been warned in the past. This is the same reason we had to stop using player photos on our wallpapers. Tons of sites still do it, but quite frankly I am not well off enough to risk the fines. 8-)

Then there is also an issue of bandwidth, and video uses ALOT.
