This man is not a Biased leaves Fan

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

This man is not a Biased leaves Fan

He's certainly just another person in the center of the universe.

It’s not even open for debate -- the leaves would have crushed the Habs in the Cup Final. The Canadiens would have been lucky to win one game against Gilmour and the Leafs’ juggernaut.

Ask anyone on that 1993 Habs’ team and they’ll tell you they were frightened to death at the thought of playing the leaves

Every hockey fan in the world knows that leaves got ripped off. They also know that the leaves would have pummeled the Habs in the Cup Final.

HOW CAN ANYONE BE THIS STUPID?

Yeesh, the leaves juggernaut? Hardly.

some more quotes from more leafheads
While the leaves may have not won a cup in 40 years, the heart and soul of so many fans and players of that team outweigh the crappy 5 minutes of happiness expansion and no-name teams get from winning the Cup.

leaves will win the cup before the half-century, count on it.
If Jim Lang ever decided to run for Prime Minister, I’d vote for him.
To all those who are doubting that if the call was made, the leaves might not have won?

Just one answer to that: You actually think Gilmour would NOT have scored on the ensuing powerplay?!

this one is long, but.. read carefully, rofl
I have to give you haters some credit believe it or not, you're absolutely hillarious with your uninformed comments. Thank you for proving once and for all that you know nothing about hockey. If the Habs were destined to win the cup in 93, then why did both Demers and Bellows say they didn't want to play the leaves? Why did the Montreal players in the bar watching the games cheer and celebrate when LA moved on? Where was their confidence and words saying that they would have won had they played the leaves instead? Oh right, they didn't exist. The fact that this is ancient history that people have moved on from a long time ago doesn't change the fact that Clubber is 100% right when he says that had it not been for Fraser, the Habs would have had no chance and even they knew it so fact it haters, get over your biases and try to look like you have some sort of intelligence when you post in the future, as impossible as that will be.
I mean cmon, look at the players: Dougie, Wendel, Dave. A, Felix...these guys were beauties.
Peter Zezel would have won every draw and the leaves would have taken it 5 games.
The leaves were robbed. As usual, the Habs lucked out with all those fluky OT victories and the leaves have lousy luck.

Because a couple of guys were respecting the leaves and not trying to stir the pot by making blatent "put you down" comments ... that ensured the leaves would beat the Habs if they played them??? ... Its so homer it makes you want to chuck reading that kinda stuff doesn't it ....

Here's some thoughts ...

... if Harold Snepsts hadn't fed Mike Bossy in the slot with a minute or two in game one of the finals in '82 the Canucks probably woulda won the Cup too that year !!

... and if Nathan Lafayette had of ... hmmmmmm ... never mind .... !

The rules are crystal clear. You draw blood with a high stick; you get a penalty. That is unless you’re Wayne Gretzky and Fraser is the ref.

Gretzky and the Kings went on to win in overtime and then win Game 7.

There never should have been a Game 7. The leaves got ripped off by Fraser.
this is pretty accurate with the exception that at that time of the NHL if you draw blood with a High Stick its not just 2 mins. you get the gate for the game. It was clear. Gretz didnt even get a warning

.the rest is crap but I believe this to this day. I even screamed that Gretz should have gotten the gate and was even more furious when he talked to Fraser about the non call shortly after it was almost as if he was making the non call himself.

"Yeah that wasnt a penalty Kerry"

"hmm your right Mr. Gretzky"

but what can you do its history. if the leaves were such a powerhouse there shouldnt have been a game 6 they should have won in 4 straight. That many OT wins by one team in the playoffs is no fluke. Roy was out of his mind most of the time.

with the exception of that one goal I thought Yzerman did more damage to us then Lidstrom. That whole team was stacked.

Fraser was out of position on the play and didn't see it. That's why it wasn't called. Fraser's family still gets heat for that blown call to this day. I read in The Hockey News in an article on Fraser that quoted him as saying that missing that high stick was his biggest mistake. Fraser's Mom still gets crank called to this day over it from Laffs fans. The abuse the Fraser family has gotten over that is probably right up there with the abuse that Bertuzzi's family got over "the incident". Either way, it's wrong.

I agree that the leaves likely woulda won Game 6 against the Kings without Gretzky and a 5 minute power-play and went to the Finals. But any Laffs fans who think that it woulda been easy to beat Patrick Roy in the Finals the way he was playing that year has the blinders on.

You can't be a leaves fan and not be biased.
