Whats a good music/file downloader??

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Whats a good music/file downloader??

Post by tuzzi44 »

Hey guys, I havent been around much that last couple weeks because my computer got a stupid virus. Anyways so my computer had to be "wiped" in order to clear everything up. I was using limewire before to download music, and it may have been part of the problem. So my question is, what program does everyone else uses??? Im just a cheap college student, so im looking for a free program... any suggestions???

Go Nucks.

I like to use bit torrent. It's hard to find single songs, but I just download the albums and delete what I don't like. Good sites to get torrents from are

www.mininova.org and www.torrentspy.com

If your looking for quality, then you should consider Napster or Itunes. I'm so tired of filtering through songs when using p2p networks(limewire, ares, bearshare). Most of the songs have clicks and pops in them, or they aren't even the right song..... however there are some good ones.........99 cents a song isn't that much, so consider Itunes or Napster! Otherwise torrents and p2p will have to do....... Hope this helps!

be careful with bearshare, i hear you'll be getting lots of pop-ups on your computer if you download that program, and even if you uninstall it, pop-ups are there.

you could alwys try imesh (if you want a choice of free and pay tunes) or morpheus if you just free P2P. Haven't yet had any bad experiences with either one. . . yet.
Good luck

For full Albums, movies and video I use UTorrent which is a wicked little program, lots of functions, very little disk space used.

For single song files, I use soulseek, which is also a really good, Ratio-based P2P.

These are the best of each catigory I've found and highly reccomend both!
