Tough for him. Florida should have traded the pick to us
Sounds like Ritchie tried to get even today, and even though Canada lost it looks like Horvat played well again. He's racked up a few points in this camp and should be a lock for a leadership position on that team (assuming he's not in the NHL of course )
Tough news for Ekblad and Florida. Concussions can be tough to deal with, hopefully it's a one-off and not the start of a bad career narrative for the young guy.

Good move by Montreal. Puzzling they did not do this sooner. PK is a franchise D-man you build your team around. worth every penny.
I agree a good move. No sense going through this next year where PK has even more leverage, ie plays out the year and walks. 9 seems a tad high, certainly no home team discount, but not so high that it is a bad contract, it is a decent contract. 8.5 would have been a better number but 9 is still in the right range for PK. He is worth it.
Makes you realize, again, that MG did a good job in locking players up for reasonable cap hits that often had some home team discount in them. Sure they had NTC but as we have seen these are moveable, the return can be questionable but nonetheless they can be moved. Instead of fewer NTC in the future I think we see more, more modified, more NMC, more full NTC.
? 1) depends on which version of PK Montreal gets.. the one we saw in the playoffs is a true franchise player.. but the one on the Olympic team didn't impress Stevie Y or Babcock .. Hamhuis replaced him after game 1 ..
2) MG and NTC long term contracts have killed the Canucks.. Luongo deal.. kesler .. and 3 overpaid under performing swedes .. Having to trade off Garrison instead of Edler..
Who cares about the Olympics? He wasn't even given a chance. He's been an NHL superstar D-Man the past two years who's won a Norris,.
The Bruins blew that trade. The leaves traded a draft pick. The Bruins traded Seguin.
And Rielly Smith and Hamilton are not worth Kessel.Rielly Smith will be in tough to match what he did last season. He overachieved. Kessel is a PPG star playing with anyone.
Topps I was just pointing out what an ass ramming Brian Burke received from Peter Chiarelli. I am not a huge fan of the move to deal Seguin to Dallas for Errikson, Smith and Fraser myself.
Hamilton will be a top pairing D man. The leaves got hosed in that deal . They could have had Hall/Seguin and Hamilton. Instead they gave the picks away for Phyllis Kessel. The dude has a boiler and yellow teeth.
