Training Camp - 2019

Post by Cornuck »

Wow - less than a month to training camp! :D

So with 3 days of camp and 8 pre-season games, the coaches have to decide who's making the roster, who gets waived, who rides the Utica bus and (if all goes well) who will play with Bo on a regular basis.

Where will Bearcheese fit in? Can he stay healthy long enough to earn a spot in the top 6 now? (no banking on this one)

Is Goldobin going to stick around? Will his bad decisions outweigh his potential for offense? (not banking on this one, but he'll survive camp)

Loui, Loui.... He gotta go now.... Do we keep him in the lineup for a pump and dump? or just be done with him and see how it plays out? (I'm guessing he'll be on the opening night roster).

Can Gaudette impress the coaches enough to stick?

Is Pearson the real deal? Will pre-season be enough, or does he already have the coach's confidence?

Where does Fantenberg fit in?

Will Brock be signed? (be nice to see this done SOON!)

And just hand Bo the C, ok?
Doc: "BTW, Donny was right, you're smug."

Cant fuckin wait.

Absolutely love what the team did this offseason by adding 2 significant pieces to the top 6 that bring size and pushback. That should be huge for us

and...

Revamping the D with 3 significant pieces that should support the development of QH nicely will also be massive

Both were huge reasons we sucked last season and i have a feeling this team could suprise if they get the same level of production out of pettersson and Boeser and the same quality from markstrom

Like camp to be 5 days but ?

Unfortunately, I have to opine that LE will kiss and make up. Probably work his ass off in camp and PS games. Then die, APU.

:D

I predict he's either traded or starts the season in Utica.

Plenty to look forward to. Maybe the most fascinating beginning to a season ever. Well, almost.

Not someone that's gonna get much airplay right off the bat due to so many blossoming youngsters but;

Just to make next years' cap even tougher, I'm predicting this to be; "THE YEAR OF THE JAKE" In earnest this time.

What I wanna see is Miller with Pettersson and Boeser on a high scoring first line and Ferland, Gaudette and Jake on a hack, whack and smack third line.

I know most have Ferland on the second or even the first line but if they want three effective lines scoring, I really like the idea of him with those two young, speedy, aggressive players. That could be a very difficult line for other teams to deal with.

The question is who goes with Bo? Pearson and Baertschi are both natural LWers, but probably the highest skilled of the remaining players. Which one could play RW effectively? And are Baertschi’s concussion issues resolved? If only one of those two is on Bo’s line as a LWer, who plays RW, if they keep Ferland on Gaudette’s line? How would Sutter look there? I am curious about seeing Sutter on Bo’s right side. Or, can Leivo offer enough to stay on Bo’s line? Has he improved his consistency. Can MacEwen steal a job there? So many questions and still a month away.
