This is the kind of bullshit that is out and about this time of year.
It's suggesting Benn to Vancouver for an unthinkable price;
https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2019/05/n ... e.html?m=1
He's not that old but again, we aren't ready for a cup run yet.
I suppose what they call a Cinderella run is always possible but.....
Benn is from here but so what? He's also declined in production a bit.
Maybe a different type of package, but I think it's just more kickin up dust.
And; of course there's the contract; https://www.capfriendly.com/players/jamie-benn
yikes.

If they retain some, and it doesn’t cost us anything from the core I’d do it. If they don’t retain that might throw a monkey wrench in things they could always take Louie back.

Benn turns 30 in July and just signed an 8 year extension. $8 million a year. If I was Dallas Id be looking to get out of that one now while you can.

Fuuuck that. Why the hell would the canucks start cleaning up other teams fuck ups all of a sudden? Because they're all from bc?
Benns deal is a reward for having 5+ good seasons previously when he was on sweetheart deals. Hes not a 9.5 mill talent anymore...hes only paid like one

One thing for sure is Benn is too old and beat up in regards to the average of his contract in duration.
It's simply too much moving forward for the Canucks.

Horvat needs someone in addition to Pearson. Someone I don't currently see in the organization.
Boeser and Pettersson need like a better Goldobin. Unfortunately, the way I see it, there IS only Goldy and Jake for those
Two roles.
Nobody else is even in the ball-park. Eriksson seems to think he is but the fact is, he's had the chance and failed.
Over and over...................................

Circle back to Nyqvist Mick. Hes youngish skilled and plays in traffic/makes plays under physical pressure. He will make some bank but after looking over all the ufas he might not be up in the high 6s after all.

He might be one of your bargains blob

Joonas Donskoi could be a solid add. I like Nyquist as well. This crop is full of forwards. Not many D men so that may have to be solved through a trade and re- upping Edler. I think this draft/UFA season is going to be very busy with a lot of trades throughout the league

Loui Eriksson away from Travis Green's systems and 3rd / 4th line duties and he's got 4pts in 3 games for team sweden.

I think he'll be ok with a change of scenery trade.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

At least the World's is showing Eriksson can still score in the proper system, could help JB make a trade - as Green doesn't give a shit lol, to him LE is depth checker in his books & coaches are stubborn as hell!

Eriksson has gotten a lot of time in the top 6 in his three seasons here. He’s a soft, lazy piece of shit. Don’t be blaming Green

Ya, It's a no lose situation if he just lights it up over there. The better he does, the more it helps no matter what.
A trade.
He starts playing like he should for us.
He doesn't play for us like he did at the Worlds.>>>he asks for the trade to anyone.
I can see any of these scenarios at least making the situation better than it's been and is now.
I wont say toxic but there have been times.

The laid back Vancouver life-style can be a real problem for some, not all. The ones that have succeeded big time here are
pretty special players.
I guess there are a few other cities with a similar problem, just seems quite prevalent here.

Nope only under Willie Desjardins did he receive quality ice time.

Under Travis Green his ice time went down considerably from his 1st yr to this past yr even more so, especially on the powerplay (these past two years he's been behind 12 other forwards in total powerplay ice time).

He got lots of looks early with Petterson and Boeser and a lot of time with Bo in the last party of the year. Ice time is earned not given. That lazy fuck should have sat a dozen games, not one.
