I agree that you need a winning culture (regardless of your actual record), but, seriously, how does Nilsson help that? He has moments of greatness (Worlds this spring), but he has than zero consistency. He -might- win one extra game for Philly. That is not worth a 5th to the 30th place team in the league. Heck, it is only worth a 5th to any team that is in the playoff hunt, and who also has at least one goalie injured.

It would be like us trading a 5th for Nic Dowd last season. (we traded PK Lite for him). Dowd didn't win us any games, didn't boost our winning culture, but also didn't cost us anything more than a bag of pucks.

yeah philly probably just wants a free stop gap for a couple weeks till one of their other 6 goalies is ready.

I reckon they waive mckenna & when that happens the canucks/comets get him back.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Tanking team signed JVR to $35 million contract. And is in the tank one year after returning to the playoffs.

Interesting. Maybe gives some context to the Eriksson signing by a likewise-rebuilding team?

Avalanche (48pts) have now lost 8 of 9 games, making them close to fall back into the last wild card spot if they don't pick it up.
Wild (47pts), Ducks (46pts), Oilers (45pts) and Canucks (45pts) on their heels.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Still can’t believe that Colorado will get one of Hughes, Kakko with Makar on the way

Calling it right now the Sens to go on a winning streak & will finish the season @ 23rd spot, giving the Avs a 9th overall pick.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
