Not too many wingers in Utica that I wouldn't rather see getting a shot with the big team over Goldobin and Leipsic; or defencemen over Pouliot for that matter.
We are all Jim Benning.

How did you get that I was criticizing that one specific moment in time when I was making a fairly general blanket statement on him as a player overall?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 11:41 amThere was nothing wrong with the pass Goldobin madeCarlyee wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 9:19 amI think Goldobin is one of those players that can score when he is set up perfectly, which is why he needs to play with Petterson. But IMO he cannot make things happen on his own. And some of his passes make me grit my teeth.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 8:17 amActually it was Goldobin who passed the puck.

I think this Ben Hutton's time to shine with Edler out.
A long time ago, a baseball player remarked: "If I owned a ballclub, I'd hire a $5,000 coach and a $15,000 scout."

While the Nucks are having these injuries it is a good time for players like Goldy, JT and a couple of others to shine. Too bad we are not seeing it on a consistent basis and to me it is not the fact that they are not scoring it the mistakes some of them are making. Extremely disappointed in players like Goldy as I was hoping he would have a better year but he seems to have disappeared.
LE - honestly this guy just need to be taken off the team, he is everything we do not want on this team and to show the younger guys. Sutter, he is OK but paid a mil or 2 too much for what he brings to the team.
I am also questioning JB and going after 3 forward UFA, because going with the same 6 as last year is just crazy, i cannot see how having someone from the minors up by Christmas would be worse than the bottom 3 - 4 guys. I hope (really hope) they have Julio pencilled in to come up after Christmas and pair him with the right guy. This is where they should of gone after a vet steady d guy in the off season.
It really is time to move on from the often injured Edler and maybe even Tanev, although Tanev's injury seems to be not severe he is one blocked shot away from missing 20 - 40 games AGAIN. Maybe wait until the trade deadline but there must be better and less injured UFA available in the off season.

Then why didnt JB sign a UFA d man knowing that he will lose 1 - 2 players to injury?Cherry Picker wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 12:18 pm Not too many wingers in Utica that I wouldn't rather see getting a shot with the big team over Goldobin and Leipsic; or defencemen over Pouliot for that matter.

Nice to see B-Hutt playing well. He's probably our best skating D-man and has the best poise with the puck to skate it out. He has shown this season that he can log lots of minutes with better conditioning, but I think he'll struggle if he's asked to cover for Eagle long-term.
It's good to see Greener doesn't play favorites as well. Last year, B-Hutt and Pooalot were his whiping boyz, he challenged them and they responded. They have both been playing fairly well, so veteran Del Zots (who played all 82 games last season) was recently in the dog house.
I was concerned about the future of our D in the offseason, but with Hughes and Olaf (heard he's playing well in Utica) coming; Tryamkin possibly returning; with B-Hutt, Troy Soldier and maybe Pooalot continuing to trend upwards, it'll bode well for the future of our D-core.

Also curious to see how Brisebois does as well.

Ah, thanks for the insight. Funny story. I'm stupid and never realized the GDT is actually a separate forum until now. I'll post my game specific drivel over there from now on. My apologies.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 1:39 pmIt was more for the sheep piling on him in the GDTCarlyee wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 12:41 pmHow did you get that I was criticizing that one specific moment in time when I was making a fairly general blanket statement on him as a player overall?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 11:41 amThere was nothing wrong with the pass Goldobin madeCarlyee wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 9:19 amI think Goldobin is one of those players that can score when he is set up perfectly, which is why he needs to play with Petterson.
