Ok those 2 pcs i listed werent meant to be specific players...just that to acquire upside you need to send upside. How about Goldobin then if were looking for single assets knocking on the door

uh, because one mans garbage is another mans treasure!!
in reality, Gagner and Eriksson are serviceable players that even though are not really necessary on our team, can fill holes on other teams. Anahiems needs are different from our needs. They need plugs to fill holes while they get through injuries. Those guys can fill those holes. just because we hate them for the roles that they were signed for, doesnt mean that other teams will hate them for roles those other teams need.
You don't need to sour on them just because we are already full of 2nd/3rd line tweeners, and have young tweeners to push them out. other teams havea lack of tweeners. we should export tweeners.

If Anaheim bites, why not? I don't think Goldobin is going to get a fair shake under Green anyway.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 12:25 pm Ok those 2 pcs i listed werent meant to be specific players...just that to acquire upside you need to send upside. There’s a thing called the salary cap. Those two slugs combine for more than 9 million a year. You couldn’t give them awayMadcombinepilot wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 12:32 pmduh, because one mans garbage is another mans treasure!!

so we retain salary. we have lots. LE at 3million is a good deal. If that gets us a good prospect/decent pick in return, it will work for us.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 2:15 pmThere’s a thing called the salary cap. heck, retain 1/2 of Gags this year, flip him now, then if LE survives the expansion draft, retain on him later. We have cap space, and they are servicible players (even if overpaid).
I would rather have those 2 idiots for WAY too much money than pilons like Megma, Chaput, and Gaunce in the lineup.

Roberto Luongo says hi from retirement in 2020, and Brock Boeser's agent would beg to differ.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 11:37 amso we retain salary. we have lots. Elmer agrees with you. He’s got basically replacement level players in Gagner and Eriksson siphoning more than nine million off the cap when he could get similar players for the league minimum.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 11:37 amso we retain salary. we have lots. Ballards and Booths buyouts, retaining on Luongo and Hansen. Having to pay Gillis, Tortorella,Henning, Gilman, Desjardins, probably Linden after all those guys were given the boot before their contracts expired. Dwindling fan interest and taking a beating at the gate. People say just retain on this guy or that guy like Aquilini has this endless supply of money. You don’t think the guy is already pissed at paying these guys piles of money to float.Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 11:48 pmRoberto Luongo says hi from retirement in 2020, and Brock Boeser's agent would beg to differ.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 11:37 amso we retain salary. we have lots. Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
That is the same story as 2/3 of the NHL teams, with retained salaries, buy-outs, and buried in the minor contracts. Which is exactly why the owners don't care as much as you think, and why they put a salary cap in place so GMs can't go over the limit.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 7:03 amBallards and Booths buyouts, retaining on Luongo and Hansen. Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Yeah no. I think the Aquilinis like making money. Theyve probably fired more coaches than any team in the league the last five years. They’ve retained or bought a bunch of players and seen the team play in front of of 15,000 fans and season ticket sales drying up. They aren’t going to enjoy continuing to eat player salaries so the overpaid slug or slugs can play for another team.

Well, Hell; if they've fired more coaches that any other team recently, why not really make it one for the record books and do one more.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 11:17 am Yeah no.
