These Canucks, yes - I'm assuming you're old enough to remember what happened when Naslund got a cheap shot.

Aaah yes.

Fucking right. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer rat. Problem with this franchise is it’s always gone to either extreme when it comes to toughness and protecting each other. You know the league won’t do it. A nice balance would be good one of these days.

Still won’t shed a tear for that rat-fuck’s career - or lack thereof.
Moore's: the suit people.

Acquiring the un-signed RFA Nick Ritchie would bring that nice balance.

Ritchie - Horvat - Boeser
Pettersson line.
Roussel - Sutter - Virtanen
Schaller

Gudbranson

Just enough to handle the rigors of the NHL, and hey if we are going to lose this season, might as well go down swinging.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Offload Eriksson to ANA for a late pick and then trade Tanev to TO for Nylander

ANA would want more than just Eriksson for a late pick?

Nick Ritchie’s bargaining position got a whole lot better with Perry going down. If Anaheim still can’t sign him, with the implied message that they would rather choose a prospect under contract than deal with him, why wouldn’t Benning see about getting him? Throw in Eriksson and Motte and see what Anaheim says. If they don’t want to move towards Ritchie’s camp’s position now, they are not likely to do so once the season starts. Sure the kid isn’t super fast, but having him and Virtanen flanking somebody like Gaudette in the future is worth a gamble over the same old-same old or hoping someone like Motte will fit the bill as the club moves out of the basement.

A little portly for one so young. Wonder what he looks like in the future.

Anaheim is not trading Ritchie for Eriksson and Motte

Eriksson has negative value

What is a realistic value, (in dollars only), For LE.
I will say 3.8
There may be a team or two that would go 4.2
This is of course if he was a free agent right now.

Ya why the hell would they...those 2 are waiver wire type guys. Think Lind and Gadjovic or similar at the minimum

Nick Ritchie has had a better development process in duckland than Jake Virtanen has in nuckland !!!
Even at that, his #s are only slightly better and even they are misleading.
Ritchie has had ample opportunity and what has Jake got?
A year in the minors with Green, (an unmitigated disaster).
Most of a year in and out of the press box in the NHL with Green, (a c'hair better result).
Now if you can acquire Ritchie in a manor that relieves us of unwanted ICK, great, but;
I wouldn't dare give him more than a bridge deal, no way.

What Anaheim needs is serviceable bodies with Perry out and Ritchie holding out, unless they want to recall Rodin. If they ask for Lind or Gadjovic, they either believe they'll step right into the big club (unlikely seeing as they were one of the first ones cut from Vancouver), they think they can use those pieces in a trade to address their crater among the forwards (possible, but what established player better than Ritchie would that combo fetch them?) or they're declaring this season's playoff hopes dead before the first regular season game is played (and start the rebuild early).

Let's not forget that Ritchie's stock has dropped the last season or two. He's a first-round pick, but he hasn't taken the league by storm and has struggled. If Anaheim still thought he was worth it, there may have already been a deal made. If Benning can offer up a serviceable replacement player with only a year or two left on his contract, or even somebody like Granlund who may have some promise remaining, Anaheim might take it.

Gagner must worth something as a throw in to the Ducks as well...

Lol why do the Ducks want all Vancouver’s garbage?

Eriksson and Gagner couldn’t make their team if they were making league minimum. The fact that they are making the hideous salaries they are makes them tough to move unless Elmer takes a garbage contract back.
