Re: Draft Lottery Winner
This is it.
Not to overstate things, but the outcome of this lottery will determine the shape of the Canucks future for at least the next three years.
If they win (and Dahlin is everything he's cracked up to be, and the ownership/management group actually drafts him, and he actually plays for the Canucks, etc.), even Doc's most wildly optimistic projections are in reach.
If they get anyone who will need a couple of years more development (even if that player ultimately becomes an all-star), they will struggle to make the playoffs, and not go far if they do make the playoffs, during that time.
This board needs to do everything it can. I recommend the mods sacrifice a poster.
I volunteer as tribute !

Perfect! I have some quarters for the jukebox. The crazy train is on the tracks. Hmm, 2 songs for a quarter - how about 'super freak' (cause that's us as Canuck zealots)! The next song, should be all about winning the frikin lottery and the rise of the 'dah-lin' - petterson- boeser-horvat regime... how about 'Start me Up'? Ok then, now lets have an IPA and some of us can step outside for a 'pull' off some indica (or sativa).Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 7:33 pmI’m going down to a pre draft party at the Astoria with Pacific Blue, Paddy, Doc and Skyo has arranged some gals for us and Rummy has a big white bag of tricks. Apparently Rosie Rottencrotch will bring Fred/Micky,Island Nucklehead and Rocky if he is leveled out with his meds. Topper, Lancer and Reef have shown interest and Corny and Rats may cross the border if they get their paperwork sorted out. I’m not sure how dbr and coco feel about all of this.. or lever for that matter
You are welcome to join. Bring the weed. For Hank and Esq and Wids... she has arthritis. UDL will roll in when he feels like it and probably grab a ride with Meds and Okcanuck. UK can stay back in England and enjoy his own halitosis. listercat has been kidnaped by the Blackmores and now has 75 wives
I have a hard time seeing the Doc under the influence, but I'ld bet he has a wild side and as long as there's no hallucinogens around (shrooms) or hardcore Leaf fans around, he wouldn't be riding a downer. Pac blue can surely sling back the brews, but please just dont get him going about the concept of what's genious, alright! But maybe he's right, just as Topper might be... i mean what if Virtanen became a scoring machine off of Patterson's feeds?
Ah well, we"ll probably all have to experience another Gilbert Perrault-like Canuck reality and deal with yet another fuckin disappointment... but hey, ya never know. Regardless, we'll continue to be here ... still trudging and on and waitin for our day

Re: Draft Lottery Winner
This year’s draft somehow doesn’t feel like it will be a disappointment. The disappointment has been the last three years losing only 2-3 more games each season and we finish dead last with the best odds of drafting first overall.
Imagine Matthews or Laine; Patrick or Hirschier (sp) and finally Dahlin or?
What could have been. But instead we have Juolevi, Pettersson and ?
So this year I don’t care. Sure it would be great to draft 1OA but I think I’ll be ok no matter where we draft. Our consolation prizes the last two years don’t look too bad so I have faith wherever we land, whoever we draft, it’ll be alright.
We lucked out in Boeser. We lucked out in Demko. We lucked out in Gaudette, maybe.
Goldobin and Dahlin look to be ok too.
And word today that the Canucks are working on getting Petrus Palmu out of his final year of his contract to bring him over next year. Our new Cliff Ronning lite with legs like a bobsleder!
So bring it on. I’m choosing to be excited no matter what.

JB is doing his job without interference from ownership. Still 3-4 years away from real SC contenders but playoffs in 2 seasons.

I did it three times and the Canucks landed the top pick twice.

Re: Draft Lottery Winner
Its peculiar to me that a lot of canuck fans are freaked if Chicago wins the Dahlin lottery. Why? Who the hell cares. The Oilers winning one of the top 3 is the only scenario that would piss me off. The rest? Whatever. Well, like the Oilers, fellow tank artists the Sabres are undeserving as well
Outside of Vancouver I am quietly pulling for the Isles Calgary pick to win

Re: Draft Lottery Winner
I’m predicting we pick 7th, and I’m okay with that as I think one of Boqvist or Dobson will be there.
Remember only bad things happen on this day, so don’t feel too disappointed.
Just keep calm. There is nothing to get worked up about.
That being said, if we drop to eighth, I’ll Be FUCKING CHOKED!

Results of the poll would seem to suggest otherwise. The overwhelming majority of responses support your view.RoyalDude wrote: ↑Sat Apr 28, 2018 10:30 am Its peculiar to me that a lot of canuck fans are freaked if Chicago wins the Dahlin lottery. Why? I do not which is why I created the poll. The Oilers winning would definitely annoy me but they're a joke to me so it's almost farcical. Chicago by contrast has achieved a modern day dynasty in the wake of our failure to even win one cup. I haven't gotten over it

An hour and a bit left before the fantasy comes to a depressing end.
7th overall, but would be elated if we stay at 6th.
