We should find a way to trade him now, while his value is as high as it is ever going to get, before he gets hurt (again) and the value comes back down to earth.. and then we be lucky to get back a bag of pucks.SKYO wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 3:43 pm Random stat: Alex Edler outscored Mike Green, Vlasic, Hanifin, Montour, Fowler, Lindholm, Vatanen, Orlov, TJ Brodie, Keith, Maatta, Faulk and Slavin with all of them playing around 70 games+ this season.
On top of being a shutdown defender and occasional heavy hitter.
Green/Baumer got the best out of AE this season, just like they wanted.

I thought we blamed the last 4- 5 seasons on Gillis since the genius does nothing wrong, plus the past few seasons was not a real indication of who Edler is. I see a 5 year extension coming his way with an average of $5M per season.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 4:58 pmWe should find a way to trade him now, while his value is as high as it is ever going to get, before he gets hurt (again) and the value comes back down to earth.. and then we be lucky to get back a bag of pucks.SKYO wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 3:43 pm Random stat: Alex Edler outscored Mike Green, Vlasic, Hanifin, Montour, Fowler, Lindholm, Vatanen, Orlov, TJ Brodie, Keith, Maatta, Faulk and Slavin with all of them playing around 70 games+ this season.

Boeaser did indeed suffer a wrist injury. Hurt it mid season. Flew to Minnesota to meet with specialist and to determine if he needs any procedures on it. Canucks expect to get a report later this week but expect he will be fully recovered from both his wrist and back injuries and be ready for camp.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018
End of season presser:
Trev expects to see us play several million below the cap next season. They won't be chasing FA and feel several kids are ready to step in. The kids need to step up in the leadership area and seize this opportunity and challenge themselves to be better, to be pros. Trevor would love to have the twins working in the organization but expects they will want to step back for at least a year. Will always have room for them in some capacity should they want to stay involved.
Green liked Virtanen's game this year. Expects him to challenge for a top six role.
Liked Gaudette and feels he will challenge for a roster spot.
Green touched on Hutton's year. Disappointed but sees the year as one of adversity that he has to work his way out of it. Green wants him back hungrier than every. Sees his potential as top four but he needs to develop his work ethic and Conditioning. 6 points just won't cut it for him. Saw Pouliot as up and down. Needs to come back better and more consistent. Goldobin put a lot of effort into playing a quick game. But he needs to get stronger and keep working on consistency. Says there are a number of plays who haven't transitioned from junior yet with respect to work ethic. They're still playing a junior game. They need to work this summer and understand to play and stay in the NHL they have to put in the off ice work. Some of the kids don't get the identity the team wants to instill.
Benning wants Baertschi, Granlund back. Sees them as important parts of the core. Wants to upgrade defence but haven't developed a firm plan as how that will unfold. Doesn't expect to be overly active in FA. but he is prepared to make hockey trades. Expects Gaudette, Lind, Dahlen, Juolevi and Pettersson all to compete for roster spots. Was asked if he'd trade Eriksson if someone came knocking. Said too early to have that conversation but all things are on the table.

Well he didn’t say future core.
Seriously what’s he going to say? He said he wants to be active in trades and if those two are involved he’s not going to trash them. He also said all options are on the table.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018
The overall sense I got from Linden, Benning and Green was that they have a number of players that have been in the top 10% in their leagues, junior, college, AHL, that still haven’t figured out that points and play don’t easily transition to the NHL. It is a different work ethic and conditioning level from those leagues. Only a handful of players really transition smoothly, most require adjustment.
They mentioned Virtanen as a player they feel finally got this message and they are extremely pleased with his effort and leadership the last half a season. For him, he has to bring that compete level from day one and find that year long consistency.
Pouliot, Hutton, Boucher and Goldobin were used as examples of players still playing a junior game. All of them need to work on their skating but for different reasons. All of them need to work on their play away from the puck. All of them need to improve their strength and conditioning.
When I hear Green say junior game I hear, players who never really had to work to be in the top of their leagues who are still playing as if that’s true.

Ever since he got fined for "tampering" he's been way more guarded about future plans that may or may not involve upcoming free agents.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 6:12 pmBlob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 6:07 pm Core players Granlund and Baertschi.

It’s striking listening to the twins. They are really the first hockey players I remember being so happy and full of anticipation about retiring. They seriously come across as wanting this. No doubt. No waivering. No second thoughts. Not the least bit interested in reconsidering.
When asked if they’d consider a role within the Canucks organization Hank said yes, as President! Funny guy.

So Bo knew last week he was going to the worlds but refused to announce it so as not to take any spotlight off the twins last week.

More guarded ? So he’s less pissed when he opens his mouth ? Or he has less bryll cream on his heed ? Or he put his teeth in today ? Or he didn’t ? Or he wore a cup ?
