I have to say … when we met Jonathan Dahlén after his trade from Ottawa last year … that was the first time I really felt old. I mean, we played with his dad! I was like, This guy could be my kid.

Thanks for that. A great read. I think it clearly puts to rest any notion that the twins will ask for a trade or that Benning will approach them and ask them to waive.

What class. They get it. Their job now is to mentor in the next generation and pave the way for new leadership, and a new top line They also know the end is near. They're not delusional, they just want to win and win with the Canucks. No choking speaches here folks.

I'm going to enjoy Daniel getting his 1000th point and then the mini celebration the team has undoubtably planned.

Complete class acts, hardest working players we've seen in a long time. Could do far worse than have them help the youth and future of the Canucks.

Good to put it to rest now and work on the upcoming season!

This is why the Vanek signing, he's the type to be moved to a contender at the TDD.

Dahlen very well could see some NHL action in the latter half of the season.

Would seem that the team will be sending a very strong veteran line-up for the two China games.
In other words, me thinks that we and L.A. are supposed to send recognizable names.
Of course I haven't seen that in writing, but I wonder if it could be connected to the fact that we ended up with one of the very best regular season travel schedules we have ever had.

Probably just a case of management asking the veterans: "who wants to go to China for a week?"

If I was management, out of respect, I would ask the veterans if they wanted to go or not. Like a company perk, just more expensive

It is a showcase event. The teams are expected to take competitive squads with them. I imagine the team that is papered to be our opening roster will attend while a number of bubble players will get a ton of exhibition games back home.
