Pretty funny that Blob has no time for any of those players - I guess he's a closeted lover of Lars Molin hockey!

(Sorry for stealing your phrase Blob, that's actually my favourite line of this thread!)
Pedan is tough but he is a bad hockey player. Gets beat wide constantly.

I've already said I liked Gudbranson and would have been fine with the trade minus the 2nd tossed in. That said he is a 4/5 guy not a stud like some portray him to be.

Dorsett has a lot of heart. However he's 190 , not a particularly hard hitter and he is grossly overpaid with a bad neck. None of these things are his fault but he doesn't exactly instill fear into the opposition D.

I had high hopes for Virtanen. He was drafted three years ago. He had an awful draft +1 season barely breaking ppg and being a complete non factor in the second round of the playoffs. The next year he was shoehorned onto the Canucks despite a less than stellar camp. He had brief spurts of good play and showed a bit of promise. Then came the WJC where he may have been Canada's worst player. He came back and looked .........ok. Draft+ 3 season he shows up at 235 lbs and proceeds to get sent down and produce like an AHL fourth liner. He doesn't hit and he doesn't score but some koolaid swilling posters say he's playing the right way. I'd say this is a huge year for The Fake. Next year he has to clear waivers to be sent down.

Pedan most definitely has NHL 3rd-pairing upside.

Nice fantasy but we wouldn't have got the Guds without the 2nd.

Dorsett hits hard, his neck is better than it's ever been, and is only slightly overpaid.

(players tend to get overpaid for UFA years)

Blob gives up all hope on 20-year-olds.

Yawn ..... fart Pedan is 24. He had best get it together if he is going to be an NHL regular. He needs quicker feet , not sure if he can or will get quicker.

Then don't make the trade for Gudbranson if you have to include two premium assets + a 4th rounder. Show some nuts and stick to your guns. It was too much for a guy they may only have for two seasons.

Dorsett is overpaid by a fair bit and horrible teams shouldn't be overpaying for multiple ufa. That's for the good teams to do. Dorsett is a willing hitter but he doesn't hit anyone very hard. I like the guy but I think 2.65 million could be spent better. That said he isn't the boat anchor that Louis and Brandon are.

I haven't given up on the Fake but this season is massive for him and my expectations for him have been lowered due to three poor statistical seasons. He will have to put up some pretty damn good numbers in Utica to get a sniff this year.

I think Pedan will be renewing his rental.
Might see a plane ride out west a time or two for a short stint.

Del Zaster Gudbranson
Weirdcrotch Biega

GMJB said he will make room.

Nice nicknames Blob 'Canuck Hater' Mckenzie.

Edler/Hutton - Tanev
Del Zotto - Gudbranson
Wiercioch/Pedan - Stecher
Wiercioch/Pedan - Biega

(one of Edler/Hutton gets moved, Wiercioch/Pedan rotate in and out of lineup)

Considering we have been league leaders in defencmen man games lost for the last few years, 9 d men isn't a bad idea.. I'll be surprised if they all make it through training camp without injuries.

True dat.

Also, guys like Wiercioch and Biega would probably clear waivers if needs-be

... providing depth on the farm.

However, I don't think Pedan would clear.

Resistance to injury is another important facet of the pro game in which size is an asset. (Though still no guarantee. Salo was a big guy.)

Another way to improve resistance to, and recovery from, injury is with a great training staff. Any word of upgrades in the organization there ?

I think Dorsett clears waivers and winds up on the farm at some point.

Always a good idea to stash vets on the farm for the lengthy playoff run.

In a thread asking if size matters, folks are putting the little trojan in the line up.

LOL
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

He will have to make the team out of camp just like everyone else.
Keep in mind, Green really likes Subban.
