World Cup 2014 (really)

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

UDL thanks for your input. Move along please. If you don't like footie, eff off to another thread.

Can't believe Costa Rica and Spain. Columbia has been a surprise too. Some Dutch guy at work was saying this is the worst team the Netherlands has put together in many, many World Cups. I guess he was wrong.

This has been one of the best World Cups in a long time.

I love the fact that some of the power teams came in thinking of playing their traditional 0 - 0 games and were out in 2. Good to see the arrogance of these teams beat themselves.

The final 8 will be more traditional teams and I highly doubt 4 - 1 wins but so far the games have been exciting.

Hopefully with the CSA getting their act together Canada can field a team in time for the 2022 series, I think 4 years from now will be too soon but there is a slim chance.

The biter will be suspended and he will be gone for a season, 3rd time he did this and actually he should be warned that the next time he does anything stupid it is a lifetime suspension.

The argument seems to be that the emotional rallying point of Neymar's injury ended up being detrimental. Instead of providing focus, it was a distraction. In all the emotional hype, they forgot to focus on actually playing. It was truly bizarre.
