Ummm we never get this luck! and good term!
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
Re: Canucks sign Radim Vrbata
Good term but they definetly paid for it. I guess they have the space anyway and that's the price you pay for UFA's.
Re: Canucks sign Radim Vrbata
the 5 mill is nothing compared to the other free agents who got overpaid (Bolland lol)

That's pretty damn good. Maybe a bit high, but you gotta pay more for the lesser term. Nothing outrageous like the other FA contracts that have been given out.Hockey Widow wrote:2 years at 5 per year. Confirmed
Way better than the onerous Burrows contract. At least Vrbata is a legitimate top 6.
Hope Benning is working on forcing Burrows to waive...

Compared to Pouliot's $4M per and 5 years, this is a fantastic signing.$lacker wrote:Good term but they definetly paid for it. I guess they have the space anyway and that's the price you pay for UFA's.
I don't think it's enough to make the Canucks a playoff team, but it definitely falls into that "make us compete every night and buy the kids some time" kinda signing.

Yes, great contract term to bridge to the young guys in 2-3 years. I was worried it would be 4 year deal, leaving us with a 37 year old diminishing vrbata. He should be fine for two years, right handed shot, shoots like crazy.Hank wrote:That's pretty damn good. Maybe a bit high, but you gotta pay more for the lesser term. Kulimen got 4 years and $4.1M/per for 20 points. Grabovski got 4 years and $5M/per for 35 points. I'd say Vrbata's 20 goals and 51 points are worth $5M.
Re: Canucks sign Radim Vrbata
Used to coming in 2nd place for UFA's - this is a nice feeling.
Today the Sharks sign John Scott & we sign Vrbata hahaha.
Burrows or Hansen, guessing JB probably has a trade in place I bet just waiting to see if he landed a good UFA first, not the MG way, trade for a player then go fishing for a UFA.
Ballard-->Hamhuis.
Reason to trade Burr and/or Hansen is to get this team younger, gotta make way for Kassian and Jensen they are ready for a 2nd/3rd line RW spot, I can see maybe Burrows playing 2nd line LW spot though, as Vrbata will play with the Sedins.

I think Hansen is the one to go. There's a lot more 3rd/4th liners on this team now, making Hansen more redundant. Benning may be hoping Burrows can regain his scoring touch, plus he's a more flexible guy for the lineup.SKYO wrote:Used to coming in 2nd place for UFA's - this is a nice feeling.
