Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
That would be awesome!!
One Canadian city with a coast and a scoring right winger...
They are chatting on TSN ....
Edit:
Bob Mackenzie says we swap 1 for 6, burrows and shinkaruk is the offer.
Burrows and Shinkaruk seems a bit steep to swap picks.

The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.
Re: Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
The latest hot pre-draft rumour has Maple leaves general manager Dave Nonis willing to peddle James van Riemsdyk as part of a package to Florida for the first overall pick in the NHL draft.

Panthers sitting on 2 legit offers for #1 #NHL draft pick. Heard as of late this afternoon those offers were not from a Canadian team.

So another hour or so and we find out if this Benning chess game turns into checkers.

Well, the Vancouver rumour comes from Tallons mouth on TV, Bobbie is the one who threw out the details..

Re: Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
The key piece in all this is the #6, luckily we have it - the sweet spot to pick Nylander or Ehlers.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
Re: Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
That is really fucking steep.
Our top RW, one of our top-3 forward prospects, and the 6th overall.
If it was Bur + Shinkaruk + 24th I would be all in.

Would love to see Burrows dealt but do not want to lose Hunter

Re: Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
I wouldn't mind, a center is much more important than wingers, if we ever want a good future, heavily investing in a good center would go a long ways in making that happen.Blob Mckenzie wrote:Would love to see Burrows dealt but do not want to lose Hunter

It's pretty obvious that we are going to suck this year.....barring some tidal waves in free agency.Blob Mckenzie wrote:Would love to see Burrows dealt but do not want to lose Hunter
It would really suck to lose Hunter. But that might be the price we pay, and maybe there is something else that lets us parlay the 24th in a deal to move up a bit and still get 2 in the top-15.
The fact that we couldn't get the 10th from Anaheim hurts. It would very much have offset the loss of Shinkaruk.....if that happens.

Re: Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
Burrows was discussed in a trade to Florida and he may be more inclined to waive with what has gone down today. Tallon is said to have asked for Burrows as part of the deal. Don't know if the whole package as reported is accurate or if Tallon is really going to trade. Sense is he wants to keep the pick but ownership wants to make the playoffs this year.
The only HW the Canucks need
Re: Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
Burrows had 5 goals last year, 3 years left on his deal and is 33 years old. He represents negative trade value.Mëds wrote:That is really fucking steep.

Shinkaruk would represent (partially) the cost to move up in the draft as well as move Burrow's contract off the books

There is that to consider.Vader wrote:Burrows had 5 goals last year, 3 years left on his deal and is 33 years old. He represents negative trade value.Mëds wrote:That is really fucking steep.

If Burrows will waive, Benning should do it.
I would rather see it be 6th + Burrows + Hansen.
Too bad Hunter >>> Hansen.
Re: Rumor: burrows to Florida?!?
Or maybe not.....
@TSNRyanRishaug: Just spoke to Tallon, said he’s probly going to make the pick. Said he knows he’s been a little greedy, and is comfortable keeping it.

Gotta laugh at all the pundits and we fans. If Tallon makes the trade it will probably surprise everyone.

I'm pretty much at the Tallon can go fuck himself stage.
