Don't worry Wids, according to my source it won't be much longer. ;)

Pretty crafty Rummy .

Dreger on TSN Radio "the Pens are narrowing their coaching search down to 2 & hour by hour it seems like it's down to 1 & that's Desjardins"

3:52 PM - 19 Jun 2014
So if Desjardins goes to the Pens are the Canucks left with "sloppy" third or fourths? 8-)

Actually, I would be OK with that and they could maybe re-unite The Crow and Johnston and pretend it's 2004 again ... with different results of course. :mex:
You can just hear the glee in Dreger's voice as he tries to will Desjardins away from the Canucks. He has the same look in his eyes as when he tries to downplay the return Kesler will fetch.

Too many enablers here who when you scrape away all the shite actually love the puppet show. It's not so much the source of the puppets but certain audience members here who thrive on chaos and keep him going. :sly:

Dreger now reporting that after Willie's interview with the Pens yesterday he is no longer their number one choice. No details provided, of course. Maybe they made him an offer and he said he wanted to wait until his interview with the Canucks was completed before he makes a decision.

when you listen to the qualities Trevor Linden and Jim Benning are looking for in their new man, it’s almost as if they’re describing Crawford’s former first lieutenant.

First and foremost, the Canucks’ front office tandem does not list NHL head-coaching experience as a prerequisite. They also say they’re looking for a career coach who’s won at every level, a strong communicator who has a history of developing young players. Desjardins even spent eight years with the WHL’s Medicine Hat Tigers, where he developed a relationship with Linden’s family.

Add it all up and Desjardins ticks virtually every box for the Canucks. But this might be his real strength: Like Linden and Benning, Desjardins is a no-B.S. hockey lifer whose roots are firmly set in Western Canada. There might be sexier candidates. There might be bigger names out there. But Desjardins just seems to fit in with what the new Canucks are trying to build.

Well if it's Willie, I can get behind that. Seems to be viewed very positively in the hockey community and looks to have a fresh approach.

And Willie will probably hire Lidster as his lieutenant.

Old boys. Good start repairing the team's relationship with the league-wide OBN.

Of course, being on the west coast always puts Vancouver at a small disadvantage with respect to travel and the general eastern disdain for the PST.;)

I like the potential hire and the new approach being taken by management. The departure of Booth (and perhaps Kesler) will also help repair and renew the image of the team.
Being on the west coast/BC has helped get Willie imo. :D yes term as well.

Pens fans pissed, and east coast media shocked Willie chose the Canucks over the Pens (primadonnas crosby/malkin)

The scuttlebutt on TEAM 1040 Radio was that the Pens were allegedly offering him only a two year term, just in case he didn't work out and Babcock became available by the end of the season. :mex:

Hmmm... wonder if Lindenning had plans from the beginning when they decided to keep Gully? Doesn't seem like strange decision now.
