Don't think the CBA allows for contract year "options." I think Boyle's old enough, however, to qualify for performance bonuses so AAV could be deferred to the following season like what occurred with Iggy this season.SKYO wrote:Ideally Boyle will get a 2 year plus team option, if a team really wants him though they'll give him a 3 year contract.

Most likely some team will give Boyle a 3 year $5.5M per contract.

Well there is going to be a lot of cash out there this summer with the cap going up.Island Nucklehead wrote: Boyle at $6M would be fucking insane. He's a shell of his former self. Undersized, declining skills and pushing 40. Yikes.
And there are very few players who can run a power play like 37-year-old Boyle.
Welcome to fucking insane!

While it's no US Airways tweet it's still a bit funny!
Only in the Islanders' dreams does Wanger sell that team.

Cory Schneider won't sign extension until Devils guarantee him 60 games
By Harrison Mooney
Basically, it's kinda like The Cory politely saying to Devils' management, time to tell that washed up, has been goalie (that stole starts from him last season) to retire or play elsewhere or boom, he's outta there after next season.

The only hockey people that thinks the Canucks' "sold high" on The Cory are probably high when they wrote such things. #VERIFIEDStrangelove wrote:Betamax wrote:via: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck- ... um=twitter

Finally!!! Marty making some sense ..."I've had a lot of good conversations with the Devils, but I'm not inclined at going back at this point," said Brodeur, whose contract expires June 30. "I just feel that with Schneids (goalie Corey Schneider) the organization has to move on. Me being around might be tough a little bit for them. I don't completely put it out of the question (returning to New Jersey) but I don't want to mess up the cards for the Devils.
"At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where I go next, I'm always going to be a Devil. I'm always going to come back to the organization. But I want to play one more year. So I'll see what's out there."
