It was refreshing to hear Torts say the team is stale and get over 2011' it's not 2011 anymore. I was left think maybe he does deserve one more year.

I like Kesler but I was left thinking, ya, it's time to move on especially if he brings back some pieces.

Everyone seems to agree we need changes but what changes will be debated. Seems like Torts is on the side that wants more than tinkering, not a rebuild, while the players seem to think minor changes, more tinkering. Really get the feeling that Torts is not a n Edler fan and he is a player Torts would be ok seeing gone. Maybe the way to get Edler to waive us to keep Torts

How can players ever want more than just tinkering. Anything more means that they want out, or are willing to see a lot of their buddies go. either one sucks.

This is just an unalterable and inherent duplicity when players and the organization speak publicly. The players know change - likely significant change - going to happen, and they likely understand that it has to happen. Maybe some of them, even among the core, want that change even if it means them changing teams. They want to win and personnel changes are going to happen on any team - especially after a season like this.

The only person in that organization who is going to come close to accurately stating in public the scope and nature of this change will likely be Linden and the new GM. I don't even bother with anyone else's quotes on the subject.

Leave it to Torts to hammer the nail on the head when he said 2011 isn't there anymore. That's probably one more reason why he'll be gone: too publicly honest, sad to say.

Well, the Canucks had a better chance of dropping one spot than jumping up five, so an OK result. Now, I look forward to their esteemed scouting stuff to pull a "Brook Ward" and do some serious damage with that selection. 8-)

So if Hansen's modified NTC kicks in July 1 do you look to move him before then?

I hope so but the value has to be decent otherwise you hope you have a coach who realizes he's a good third line player and not a top 6 guy.

Perhaps Hansen +6th to move up in the draft. A team might do that flip if they think their guy will be around at 6.

Trade Hansen in a package deal with Edler for something good, that enables Jensen to play full time up front RW along with Burrows and Kassian.

Yes.

Hansen is a top grinder, but over the last couple of seasons he has seen more time in the top-6 and it seems to have made him a less effective 3rd line checking winger.

It would also be nice to drop a NTC, especially for a bottom-6 forward.
