JS may have some trade value. Not much mind you. But maybe an add in with another deal. I think on a team that can afford to, or has to, play him top six with decent line mates he could be productive enough.

Steve "Bad News" Bernier was involved in both of GMMG's bad trades!

Plus the fucker signed an offer-sheet which put GMMG in a very embarrassing position.

I don't think Gillis would touch Bernier with a 10-foot pole!

The guy is a fucking jinx if you ask me....

Now I know what rock bottom for this team looks like, thanks.

Sorry dude but that part stuck out like a sore thumb.

I can't contemplate any other Cup plans because I'm focused on Plan A

- Win 7 of these last 8 games

- Grab last playoff spot

- Use momentum + underdog status + playoff experience to go all the way

Don't you get it man?

It's all about WHO WANTS IT MOST!

So many of these Canucks were so close to the Holy Grail... they could almost taste it!

The want... neigh they NEED... to have it!

Party boys Benn + Seguin just need another drink.

Bryzgalov needs... something stronger.

Canucks all the way. :mex:

2014-15 - actually just keep Kesler and with Horvat on the 3rd line that would be killer.

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Vanek Kesler Jensen
Matthias Horvat Kassian
Higgins Richardson Hansen
Sestito

Hank or RK get hurt, Matthias can easily move back to center.

Oh yeah and Mike Gillis is due for a Sundin like UFA signing...TV.

I think we should park our prospects in Utica and every once in awhile bring em up for a couple games to play with Sestito on the 4th line while we try and squeak into the playoffs as an 8th seed over the next few years with exciting blue collar, reclamation projects whom coaches trust like Richardson, Hansen, Booth, Dalpe, Higgins, Sestito, Matthias, Santorelli. What a product! What a future!

I love Iginla era Flames hockey

Uhhh no. Kesler does not want to be here. Vanek would be a terrible signing for the 7years and 60 million it would take to get him.

I don't know if I'd take it that far... but I don't think Kesler will want to re-up here when his deal is done. Bite the bullet this offseason. Get the irons in the fire and make a deal at the draft. Hopefully Gillis learned from his Luongo shitshow: don't let the media, or the other GM's, dictate your trades and don't play their silly little games. Keep it under wraps, find the deal you want, and pull the trigger. More Hodgson-Kassian trade, Less Luongo trade.

Agreed on Vanek. I don't see him wanting to play here, and I don't see Gillis wanting to give him $7.5-8M per.

An option would be moving Kesler for younger forwards, and using the cap money to sign a guy like Stastny or Callahan to fill the gap. Another intriguing UFA could be Dave Bolland, which would be even better if Kesler goes to Chicago.

I like Tony Gallaghers suggestions - Matt Moulson, Cammelleri and Vanek. Tony says any one of those 3 to play with Kesler will get us back to respectability.
