Any idea of his future plans? Seems to have dropped way off from a promising freshman year. Did his year suspension affect his game that much or were there injuries as well? A change of scenery might do him good.

I can't imagine he served the year suspension and lost a year of development at such a crucial point for any reason other than that he intends to complete his degree.

^^^Here is what I think will happen with the NCAA players:

Already signed:
Mike Zalewski
Will sign this summer:
Jeff Costello
Joe Labate
Back to school:
Ben Hutton
Patrick McNally
Matthew Beattie
Mike Williamson

I guess Labate is the only question mark, but after three seasons at Wisconsin I could easily see him go pro.

Oh, and dbr I guess another question is that I think McNally's NCAA eligibility ends after the 2014-15 season; will he continue classes without playing NCAA hockey to complete his degree or turn pro?

Huh... interesting. I didn't realize that was the case, certainly throws a wrench into my theory (although having served the suspension and now having a lacklustre seasons I see no reason why McNally wouldn't give it another year and hope that next year when his eligibility runs out there is some reason to think he could make it in pro hockey)..
