Re: Canucks News and Notes
For the first time in a long time I'm fairly ambivalent about watching or recording the games. I'm not a bandwagon fan I watched the entire gong show that was the Dallas game, but this team is lacking any redeemable entertainment quality. They don't score, they don't hit, they don't fight and they play with no passion whatsoever. I was going to skip tonight's game but I'm interested (as I'm sure we all are) to see just how far Jensen has come since his call up last year.
edit - Having said that I will probably still watch all the games I just can't believe how fast this team has deteriorated when there are still a lot of good pieces in place.

Plus when you squat you don't get any on the floor, which can stain the flooring thus causing thousands of $$ in repair so to summarize squatting is the way to go.Hockey Widow wrote:Blob Mckenzie wrote:LOL nice hissy fit mathonwy. Do you squat to piss too ?
Now that's being mysoginist! Nothing wrong with squatting to pee. (That was for you TBK, with the kids and all reading)

And that's the effect the Sedins have, hard to believe we had the 13th rank in the league in goals for, but that was when the Sedins were both healthy.Benjo wrote:Having said that I will probably still watch all the games I just can't believe how fast this team has deteriorated when there are still a lot of good pieces in place.
Henrik had a 12 game point streak early in the season.December 15th, 2013.
The knock on coach John Tortorella with the Rangers was that his style stifled the offense. Entering this game, the Canucks ranked 13th in the league (2.68 goals per game) in offense, though that has steadily creeped up lately. Henrik Sedin now has nine goals and 30 points.
Seems like after the game vs Anaheim in January 5th, Henrik got hurt as he seen the Anaheim medical team.
(http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nhl/ ... after-game),
and then he got that painful rib injury vs Phoenix
(mammoth Martin Hanzal cross-check to the rib bones) on Jan 16th,
and he has never been the same since.
As for Daniel right at that early January mark he had 26 assists and 39 points in 44 games,
but as Henrik got injured and faltered so did Danny, now Daniel is out with his injury.
Rough year for the Sedins injury wise.
And thats when the Sedin bashing started to kick in

That video just reinforces what a joke the 3 game suspension to Kassian is.
I must say, I thought Shanahan going into that position was a good thing at first...was I ever wrong.

You think it should have been longer or shorter?ClamRussel wrote:That video just reinforces what a joke the 3 game suspension to Kassian is.

Re: Canucks News and Notes
Based on the fact Dillon wasn't injured on the play, shorter. Kassian received a major+game misconduct. That is suitable punishment right there for a stupid play w/o injury. If there's going to be suspensions for these things then a game is as far as it should go. These types of hits happen all the time w/o suspensions, sometimes w/o majors being assessed. The player turned his back on Kassian to avoid taking a hit. Kassian should have let up and exercised poor judgment. I think the ejection & major was appropriate. Is the NHL going to start handing out 3 game suspensions for all hits like this and be consistent? No, Shanahan is all over the map.mathonwy wrote:You think it should have been longer or shorter?ClamRussel wrote:That video just reinforces what a joke the 3 game suspension to Kassian is.

Playoffs not so far off after all.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/kassians ... st-sabres/Vancouver pulled within three points of eighth-place Phoenix, and one point of ninth-place Dallas in the race for the second wild-card playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Re: Canucks News and Notes
Get real SKYO. Phoenix has 2 games in hand and Dallas has 3. Chances are still remote if the Canucks don't win at least 8 of their last 9 games. Even then Phoenix would only need to win 7 of 11 and Dallas 8 of 12.SKYO wrote:Playoffs not so far off after all.![]()

Odds are good the Canucks miss.

Odds are against us, but it's not totally out the realm of possibility..

If we can manage to stay healthy enough, this team could go on a roll.

Re: Canucks News and Notes
Looking at our upcoming schedule I'm not optimistic. I could see us getting 10 points in the final 9 games while playing really well.

The next two are the tough ones, in Minny and in Colorado.
After that, 6 of the last 7 are at home!

As I type this, the Rags score in overtime against the Coyotes = GOOD OMEN
Mike Smith looks like he got injured pretty good in this game, Coyotes will hafta run with Greiss
