The Great Strangelove has always been one of GM's biggest fans.
All this hobnobbing with Leaf fans has got to stop, for HIS sake.

I am bitter to be back in this weather after ten days in 30 C eating like a pig and drinking like an Indian. Thats about as far as my bitterness goes though.Mëds wrote:
They both have good value right now Blobby, your just stuck on the bitter bus lately.
I have never really warmed up to Alex Burrows and if it was up to me he would be bought out at seasons end barring a monstrous last 20 games for the guy. Obviously I don't make decisions and I would be shocked if Eye Bags bought him out.

Well in my defense Doc, knowing what I know now, I probably would choose the Seattle Mariners over the Blue Jays if I was a young kid choosing an MLB team to follow for the first time .Given my level of disgust after 2011, I'd even go as far as not cheering Team Canada Men's Hockey ever again, or supporting any one or any team outside of the Pacific Northwest.
I know many years ago, I give my good pal ratski a lot of shit for being a Mariners fans over a Blue Jays fan. All these years later however, I think I can understand where he's coming from.
But, as it turns out, my childhood loyalty runs too deep and I can't forsake either of those entities as result......even though I kind of want to.
Your disdain for Toronto is similar to my disdain of Alberta (although I'm not fond of Toronto as a whole either).

Perhaps a tad overstated.SKYO wrote:I'm betting on Shinkaruk if healthy, he played like a beast in the preseason.

Just a tad.....maybe beast-cub would be closer.ClamRussel wrote:Perhaps a tad overstated.SKYO wrote:I'm betting on Shinkaruk if healthy, he played like a beast in the preseason.

He'd be playing better than the almost $9M in cap space Booth and Burrows have been doing this season.Mëds wrote:Just a tad.....maybe beast-cub would be closer.ClamRussel wrote:Perhaps a tad overstated.SKYO wrote:I'm betting on Shinkaruk if healthy, he played like a beast in the preseason.
Hope Shink gets better asap.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Doing better than Booth and Burrows is used as a comparison to show that a prospect was in beast mode during the pre-season.SKYO wrote:ClamRussel wrote:Perhaps a tad overstated.SKYO wrote:I'm betting on Shinkaruk if healthy, he played like a beast in the preseason.

Just how bad are we doing?
Re: I think we all need to give Royaldude his props here
Shinkaruk had a great preseason, everyone thought he'd get at least 5 games especially with Kassian's suspension.

But remember he has to earn it first, at least that is what many people used to tell me when I always said youth needs to be part of the mix to keep this team competitive.SKYO wrote:Shinkaruk had a great preseason, everyone thought he'd get at least 5 games especially with Kassian's suspension.
