Paul Devorski

Post by Strangelove »

The Great Strangelove has always made a point of not criticizing referees.

The Great Strangelove has never wanted to be that guy.

However, the Great Strangelove has had it up to HERE with the asshole Paul Devorski.

Obviously said asshole is taking things personal in regards to your Vancouver Canucks.

Thoughts?

there have been 7 7min penalties given out in the entire history of the nhl..3 of them by this guy in 2 days :? 2 of them creating a 7 minute 5-3. in the last 7 minutes of a game that was a blowout to boot

This is actually putting gas on a fire as far as the players go. IT is simply not a smart thing to do as a ref. He should be looked at by the NHL as this move is endangering the players further...horrible mufa

good for you Doc. I am sick of the zebra shit it stinks..stinks to high heaven

Two games doesn't make Devorski a Canuck hater.

I just can not get behind the victim mentality that seems to pervade Canuck fandom.

Ron MacLean aside, I don't think anyone truly has it in for the Canucks and I honestly believe that we bring a lot of that crap on our own head.

Did the Nucks deserve a 7 minute 5 on 3? Objectively and after reviewing the tape. No. But was anyone here privy to the the on-ice talk between the Nucks and Devorski up to that point? No again.

We all expect the refs to be professional and fair when it comes to our team but emotions are emotions and it seems like our team evokes the worst of them when it comes to the zebras.

What's the common theme between the Auger and Devorski incidents? Our team.

Devorski should have been reassigned after that Kings game.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

This is a pretty good take on it from Kerry Fraser:

And this from his earlier thoughts:

Thanks Ratski, I was wondering about that.

Figured the Ducks game was the first time in NHL history that there were two concurrent 7min penalties.

It stinks... stinks real bad.

If s ref cannot maintain impartiality and authority in a positive way for the league and the fans. He should not be a referee, period. I like to call him stinky now...

First you say there is not a lot of Canuck-hatred out there.

Then you say there is (and deservedly so).

You were right the second time.

And yes it's no doubt deserved.

Your Vancouver Canucks have been one of the most hated teams in the league for at least 2 years now.

Common knowledge.

But it's no excuse for Devorski to behave like a complete asshole.

In the last few games I've noticed we seem to be chirping a lot more - in the Ducks game I couldn't help but feel if we just shut up we'd probably have got a few more breaks - I also wondered in that game why there were two refs because it was the Devorski show in both games.

The ref is meant to be the most responsible person on the ice right? Was Devorski responsible in the LA - questionable, in the Ducks game - certainly not. Did we put ourselves in positions to get offside with the refs - yes. Did we put ourselves in positions to be penalized - yes.

Thanks for the links!

One of the best refs in NHL history says Devorski has been behaving in an "unprofessional" biased manner.

And he says there is no doubt he has been spoken to by the league about his behavior.

We've definitely got a few chickens on the team (Garrison - does he ever take a hit to make a play) and a few eggs (Weise - hello, anyone in there?). Smart teams would know when enough was enough wouldn't they?
