Ho hum... another loss. They allowed a tying goal with 4 seconds left and lost in OT. At least Jensen scored!

Used some vouchers to go see cederholm in Victoria tonight. I was going to go see shinkaruk but obviously that's not happening.

Pros
-Great at keeping his head on a swivel watching for guys sneaking behind net for back door passes
-Physical player, pretty handy with the cross checks

Con's
-skating seems ok but could be better, seemed to have good gap control but a fast player could blow right by him
-Breakouts were nightmarish. He usually deferred to Pouliot for breakouts but he tried a couple himself and he bobbled the puck both times which led to prolonged zone time for the royals.

How is that even possible? I thought playing in the CHL eliminated a player's NCAA eligibility..

Hmmm... not exactly sure, but St. Francis Xavier is in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) which is a Atlantic Canada university conference - so that is probably why.

I think the scholarships program in the CHL enables this...

A lot of CHL and Jr A guys end up playing CIAU hockey when their junior career is over. Scholarships generally help, as do the various scholarship opportunities at the schools themselves.

Last CIAU grad I can remember playing in the NHL was Mike Ridley. Can anyone recall any other CIAU grads who made it to the NHL?

I believe the CHL scholarship program offers one year of university/college tuition paid for for every year of play in the CHL.

Hmmm... I'm not sure what has happened to Jeremie Blain and Ludwig Blomstrand - both not playing. I'll have to check ECHL transactions...
