Damn, admit it, it's a conspiracy. What you did? Encasing the goal post in concrete?

Matt Duchene definitely deserves to be on the team.

Re: Sochi 2014: Who Makes the Cut?
Hypothetical scenario:
Assuming Stamkos gets cleared to play in Sochi, would you take a rusty Stamkos over a healthy "bubble" player?
I don't know would qualify as a 'bubble' player (Jamie Benn?),
but would you take a rusty and questionably healthy Stamkos over a guy like Jamie Benn at 100%?

Team Canada rolled the dice last time when Getzlaf had a high ankle sprain. He was almost dumped from the team because of it, but went on to put up 3G/4A/7Pts in 7 games for us. Stamkos has a metal rod in his leg, and will have missed at least 3 months of hockey.
If Stamkos gets back into the lineup before the Olympics, then it's worth a shot. But if he hasn't played any meaningful hockey in 3 full months, a short tourney like the Olympics is a pretty bad time to let himself get into game shape.

Imposed this question at my work today, and they all felt that Stamkos should get in regardless. It didn't make sense to me. I think Stamkos is great, but like you said.........is a rusty non-game shape Stammer going to be better than a guy like Jamie Benn or Matt Duchene? I don't think so.

I think most folks have the wrong idea of big ice hockey. Yes you need to be able to skate, but it is not wide open fast skilled hockey. Trap hockey rules.
Asked what he felt of the game after winning the World Championship last year, Daniel replied 'it was boring hockey".

Think I'm having second thoughts:
I almost want to go out of my way to accomodate Stamkos even if he's a little green with rust ( within reason obviously).
Mentally, it will be a pretty big boost for Canada knowing that they have both Stamkos and Crosby in the line-up.
I dunno....

Re: Sochi 2014: Who Makes the Cut?
Really begs the question though.
Who would you choose?
A rusty and still possibly injured Stamkos (a.k.a. 2nd or 3rd best player in the world), or a bubble player for Team Canada at 100%? (I.e. Jamie Benn, Matt Duchene, etc.)
