I know I don't want to see where this team is when HW actually says they are slumping. Judging by this I hope it's next season because we will all but for sure being drafting Connor McDavid in that event.Hockey Widow wrote:The team isn't slumping, they are not scoring. Should the Canucks become a more DEFENSIVE team?

Must be a brand new CBA rule that overruled the draft lottery put in place in 2012. The dude has been going on about the Canucks tanking for McDavid. Then again that could be all the crack and heroin talking too

Hence the use of "all but for sure".....Blob Mckenzie wrote:Must be a brand new CBA rule that overruled the draft lottery put in place in 2012. The dude has been going on about the Canucks tanking for McDavid. Then again that could be all the crack and heroin talking too
I was implying some sarcasm there Blob, I'm pretty sure this is a slump that the team is in, not suggesting we tank intentionally. That's what you do when mid February rolls around and you are 25 points out of a playoff spot.

I never get to see a damn game anymore but from what it looks like from here this core is gone totally stale. They've lost the creative side of their game that had us within a game of the prize. When I watch I see the same, predictable moves that haven't fooled any defences for over 2 years.
Honestly, a house cleaning and fresh start is probably due.

Unless there's a deflection, or a puck bounces off a skate, or there's a rebound, etc..Mëds wrote:They could fire 100 shots at the net and if they all hit the kid square in the chest, then the puck isn't going in unless the goaltender jumps out of the way.
Re: Should the Canucks become a more DEFENSIVE team?
Well we haven't been getting much for deflections, not enough guys at the net for that. The odd bounce off of a skate, but they have been very few, and most of the time those kind of bounces aren't going in anyways because goaltenders have become so good at sealing off the bottom of the net. Rebounds? Well we never have enough guys going to the net. It's always one man in front while the other two forwards are "supporting the puck" along the half-boards and in the corner or behind the net. Besides, pucks that hit goaltenders in the logo are generally swallowed up for a whistle.dbr wrote:Unless there's a deflection, or a puck bounces off a skate, or there's a rebound, etc..Mëds wrote:They could fire 100 shots at the net and if they all hit the kid square in the chest, then the puck isn't going in unless the goaltender jumps out of the way.

By the end of the first practice there would be a new hole, middle of the goalies chest, c/o Chris Higgins alone.herb wrote:Canucks need a shooter tutor.

It is the puck you want them shooting accurately, no?
The only HW the Canucks need

They say that more often than not players shoot for where they are looking.....so chances are they'll still be hitting the goalies in the chest after this practice......Arachnid wrote:Maybe this will make them go 5 hole
