The Brown Knight's NHL 14' Team a.k.a. "The Masterpiece."

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

The Brown Knight's NHL 14' Team a.k.a. "The Masterpiece."

As many of you know by now, I've been studying and playing NHL 14' quite a bit over these past 6-7 weeks since I am recovering from a badly sprained ankle. I am proud to say, and happy to report, that not only is my ankle 100%........but that through experimentation, split testing, etc., etc., I know what it takes to create a championship calibre franchise.

It takes a combination of good long term contracts and good cap hits, plus young players with potential, plus finding, building, and retaining "core" players. It has been said that a picture is worth a 1,000 words and so without further adieu, here is my "Masterpiece." The Mona Lisa to my Michaelangelo if you will:

C.Kunitz-R.Getzlaf-R.Bouque
R.Umberger-J.Huberdeau-B.Butler
C.Higgins-D.Desharnais-T.Brouwer
L.Omark-P.Gaustad-C.Atkinson

T.Hamonick-K.Shattenkirk
K.Klein-A.Volchenkov
E.Gryba-M.Sauer

C.Price
R.Lehner

As you can see, this team is filled with players that have long term contracts at relatively good cap hits. More importantly however, it is filled with promising young players that have potential to be essential core pieces. Huberdeau, Hamonick, Shattenkirk, and Lehner all have potential to be superstars if they aren't already......and dare I say, even franchise-level calibre players.

Guys like Kunitz, Bourque, Umberger, etc., all provide my team with veteran leadership and are all signed long term.......but not to the point where they are contracted past the age of 36.

This team is very deep in net, has two potential superstar blue liners in Shattenkirk and Hamonic, and is very deep at center......with a realistic shot of Huberdeau himself becoming a superstar.

The best thing about this line up is that the overall cap hit only comes to around 57-58 million if I recall correctly.

All in all, this team that I assembled embodies everything that I currently believe in hockey.

Not only that, but they have a "simulated" 17-4 record as of this writing (I haven't played one game.......I simmed everything, and my team simply kicked ass).

In each category (offense, defense, goaltending), my team was ranked 4.5 stars out of a possible 5.

I thank you for your time.

How long have you been camped in front of Best Buy waiting for your PSOne?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Haha, I was tempted, but I'm not really a gamer. I've only been gaming hardcore these past two months ( with NHL 13 and NHL 14) due to my ankle injury.

Nope.

It was in the basement of my African Canadian boyfriend.
