I think that's what has to happen in plays like that. You know the guy is not going to fight, so you either jump him and hopefully get a few shots in, or be as dirty as you can while the ref is trying to figure out if Backstrom is conscious. Another option is to run their goalie... but against a knuckle-dragging roster like Toronto's that kind of escalation is exactly what they're after.
SKYO wrote:Nazem Kadri gets 3 games apparently for that hit on Backstrom.

If he was a Canuck multiply that by 3.
Yep. I would suggest that Kadri's hit was a tad more vicious, on a tad more vulnerable player, than Edler's hit. Adding in the match penalty he received later in the game, I think you coulda dinged Kadri for 4 or 5.
The Laughs are easily the NHL goon squad with the likes of Phil; 'Hack Job' Kessel, Nazim 'Goalie Killer' Kadri not to mention the real goons on the team...yet no one will label them this because it is the centre of the Ford universe...

Missed the Quinn years I guess. Toronto was known as the dirtiest, whiniest in the NHL. They're just not that bad now.

Kessel slashed John Scott. LOL

The AV Rangers have won 8 of their last 11 games.

Two Goal Gatling Gun Grabner was a healthy scratch last night...he hadn't scored any goals in 18 straight games.

It isn't Christmas yet, or is he disappointed he wasn't included in the Sabres trade?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The Rangers and Alain Vigneault play Boston tonight.

V's first time against Boston since January 7th 2012 when we got our grudge match victory over the
Bruins.

I'm not going to lie folks........and I apologize if this offends anyone. I can be a dick, but I'm an honest dick.

I hope we see a Steve Moore II tonight.

I really hope Vigneault puts a bounty on Brad Marchand's head tonight and we see his career ended.

Again - I do apologize for being open about this, but it's how I feel.

How Brad Marchand punched Sedin in the face 5 times, to which Sedin ended up getting a 10 minute misconduct, deserves retribution.

Brad Marchand would be fantastic addition to the Canucks.

An impact forward!

That's 3-4 weeks of glorious opportunity to get ahead of em for a playoff spot. 8-)
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Raymond with his 8th goal. 2nd in points behind Kessel on the leaves. He has one more goal than Daniel Sedin and one less than canuck goal leader - Kesler, but Raymond has more points than Kesler. How much did Raymond sign for with the leaves? Where is Booth? Why can't we score?

Gillis justified letting go of Grabner cause of Raymond

Gillis justified letting go of Raymond cause of Booth

Booth is a healthy scratch tonight and will undoubtedly get bought out at end of year
