I don't mind your list...

But I'd replace:

Lucic with Benn. More speed on the big ice, and a more skilled player with less (unnecessary imo) sandpaper.
Not sure how they can leave off St Louis if he keeps playing like he is... I mean if Kunitz goes with Crosby...
I'd also be keeping an eye on Spezza and Seguin as we roll through December.

Vlasic also gets a look on D.

Steen will be playing for the Swedes.
I know he hasn't had an amazing start, but if healthy I have to believe that Eric Staal will be part of this team.
Still think Lucic is a longgg shot.

With a D core this deep I don't think Vlasic makes the short list.

Yes, good point about Benn.

As far as Seguin goes, I don't think he makes my team as of this writing. I'm not sold on his attitude/work ethic/conduct off the ice, and he hasn't really proven himself to be a much of a playoff performer (if last year was of any indication).

Another guy who deserves mention is Matt Duchene.

I agree with you about Lucic, but one thing I do like about Lucic is his ability to raise his level during important games. If we're playing a physical and intense team like the U.S. and things get chippy, he'll be a good guy to have.

My only problem with Eric Staal is that we aleady have a bunch of centers on our roster........many of which will be playing out of position on the Wings. Perhaps Team Canada will be better suited to selecting players that have far more experience playing their natural wing positons?

International refs don't seem to play the same game NHL refs do. They call a stricter rule book, and are less "game managers". I worry about Lucic trying to be too physical for the international game, and getting into penalty trouble. I also hope Canada's PP will be the tool used, as opposed to physical retribution, to dissuade teams taking liberties.

Giroux not so sure-fire anymore! horrible start to the season! Duchene stealing that spot right now.

Life without Stamkos...

I think Eric Staal's experience and superstar play will take that crucial 2nd line center spot.

Tavares with Crosby will be just be a fuckin' deadly combo.

Giroux played himself off the roster! :o

Duchene being nice and healthy is back to his star self, gets the nod.

Seguin gets the spare due to his breakout play this season.

Benn - Crosby - Tavares
Duchene - E Staal - St. Louis
Couture - Getzlaf - Perry
Bergeron - M Richards - Toews
Seguin

Possibles: Eberle, Spezza, Giroux, Marleau, Nash

Benn or Marleau for the power forward winger on the top line, went with the younger Benn.
