Seriously, I rather him just turtle than fighting like a little girl, Semin is another good one...Rumsfeld wrote:Yeah he's not worth 8 million, but he's no more one-dimensional than the Sedins. And for people comparing his contract extension to the Sedins, keep in mind that when his contract ends he'll be the same age as the twins are when theirs begins.

I've never understood why Semin is mocked more widely for winning a fight with an ungraceful looking style than Staal is for losing to someone who fights that way. It's a results-driven process, I'd say.

Bingo. He turned 26 today. He's being paid for his prime years. The Sedins not so much.Rumsfeld wrote:Yeah he's not worth 8 million, but he's no more one-dimensional than the Sedins. Yep. And he'll enter the final year of his deal at 34 years old.BigTuna wrote: Bingo. He turned 26 today. He's being paid for his prime years. The Sedins not so much.
The leaves had to make that deal, and it's not a gross overpayment (because someone would have given him that in Free Agency). That being said, of all the $8M/year players, Phil Kessel is the worst, imo.
In order of Cap Hit:
Ovechkin
Malkin
Crosby
Perry
Giroux
Staal
Getzlaf
Kessel

Anybody else thinking Columbus squeaks into the playoffs this year?

Kessel outscored Ovechkin in one season. It was Ovechkin's worst season ever by a mile. AO has averaged 100 points a season. Kessel will likely never get 100 points in a season. Not that you would be so thick as to call Yellow Teeth a better player though. I don't think you are that silly ? Are you ??

No your'e right Kessel is not grossly overpaid at 8 but he is by far the worst player in the group you mentioned.

Ben Eiger was waived by the Oilers today.
Apparently Eakins likes MacIntyre better (bigger, badder, less mouthy, & can almost skate,.. +
on the IR).

Less Canucks embarrassment please.

Perry had his one great season, but hasn't looked that great since.

Wild extend Pominville for 5 years at 28 million.

The only HW the Canucks need
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
MacKinnon and Duchene are gonna be money together in Colorado. They have quite the young forward group over there.
Luckily for us, much like RD's Oilers, that's all they have.

A good leader who'll be turning 31 next month, a solid signing for the Wild.Hockey Widow wrote:Wild extend Pominville for 5 years at 28 million.

They are still lacking at center though until Granlund can become an elite player behind Koivu.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Manny has a PTO
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
UFA C Manny Malhotra is signing a PTO today with CAR's AHL team in Charlotte.

Perry is a better player than Kessel. Period .

Agreed, as much as I hate Perry, he is a more complete player than Kessel. At the very least, Perry has more "balls" than Kessel.Blob Mckenzie wrote:BigTuna wrote: Not the last two years.
