I'm with you there. The guy could be a norris trophy candidate soon if he plays like that for 82+ games a year

Pretty silly to blame that Trouba goal on Hall.

Yeah, Hall had a cross-ice pass intercepted in the neutral zone. There were three Oilers back and Trouba's shot was an unscreened slapper from the blue line. A pretty routine shot with no rebound opportunities that Dubnyk needs to stop IMO.

As for Parros, oh noez, an illiterate goon with no education who'd be digging ditches for a living and makes millions to fight guys once in a while hoit his head.

Who gives a fuck.

Let's all pretend we give a shit about the future of guys like Parros and then get back to enjoying hockey fights.

Bad goal by Dubnyk to be sure. But it was a terrible and stupid pass by Hall that despite being a couple of guys back that giveaway immediately puts them on the back foot. They have no real choice but to put it in reverse and give up the blueline. And it wasn't Hall's only turnover that ended up in the back of the net.

The biggest issue may have been the Oilers new coach believing Smyth should play 17+ minutes a night when he really should just retire.

George Parros has an economics degree from Princeton, so it's unlikely that he is illiterate.

Every player in the NFL has a degree.

They are all illiterate.

Agreed on both. Hall looks a little lost playing Centre, and was obviously trying to do too much.

Smyth needs to get out of the game. The guy is slower than Doug Glatt out there.

leaves win again thanks to a dreadful Flyer PP. 7-2 was the PP advantage and the leaves second PP came with less than 1 minute left in the game. MayRay with less than 10 minutes icetime.

Hodgson's Sabres down 2-1 with a few minutes left. CoHo -2 on the night thus far. 41% on faceoffs.

Avs up 1-0 on the Ducks in the first. O'Reilly with the goal.

First, on the leaves, good start 2-0 and both games on the back of good goaltending and a solid PK. Up front, so far, Bollund is looking like a good pick up but we all know injuries will define his season. If he can stay relatively healthy he will be a good addition to the team. If their PK comes down to earth they could be in for a long season as they will once again be a heavily penalized team. Still a team making a ton of mistakes and early goaltending has enabled them to go 2-0. Will be interesting to see where they are after the 1/4 mark.

On the Avs, they looked poised this year to make some noise. Roy will make a difference to the team as he is a fiery players coach who will demand respect and buy in. They looked fast, tough and skilled last night. If D and goaltending hold up they could be the surprise team in the West this year.

I'm really hoping the leaves tank hard and fast. If Bolland has scored his last 2 goals of the season that's OK by me!

Bernier looked much stronger against the Flyers than Reimer did against the Habs. Reimer vs Bernier is the new Schneider vs Luongo.....enjoy the controversy Toronto, it's a really healthy distraction.

Colorado could be a scary team this year, their blueline and Varlamov will be their achilles heel though, I expect some early noise from the Avs, but like any true Avalanche they will settle in the bottom of the valley after leaving a swath of destruction. No question in my mind that they are stronger than Calgary and Phoenix in the west, and probably on par with Edmonton, but I don't think they are a true playoff lock yet.

Hodgson's line outshot 18-6 5-on-5 last night. One game and all that but Hodgson had zero effort on the defensive side of things last night. He should be embarrassed. Can see his icetime dropping in a hurry if he doesn't start to clean up that part of his game as he will get eaten alive especially on the road. It really is the part of his game that is going to prevent him from achieving what he wants to achieve. Offense is fine, more than fine, but he is almost unplayable on the defensive side of things.

Your old feelings for the leaves are starting to creep back aren't they?
