Good to see squeekie get his wad...Just hitting his stride and could surprise on the scoresheet. All hustle and never takes a game off.Island Nucklehead wrote:http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=433036The Vancouver Canucks have signed right wing Jannik Hansen to a four-year extension worth $10 million.

Good signing, a good character player who works hard on both ends of the ice.

Agreed. $2.5M should be a steal by year 3 or 4 (assuming the cap rises as expected).Uncle dans leg wrote:Good to see squeekie get his wad...Just hitting his stride and could surprise on the scoresheet. Hmmm...considering Hagelin was RFA and not a pending UFA, I'd say this is an excellent contract.Vader wrote:Carl Hagelin re-signs in NY - 2yrs @ $2.25M per

Pretty good comparison to Hansen - similar gritty two way-game, agitators, fast, good on the PK, some offence, both stink on the powerplay - every time the coach puts them out there they stink.
You'd think Hansen's next contract would be in the same area.

It's the perfect deal for Honey Badger.
Now onto the Sedin's!

Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.

This is a very fair deal for the Canucks. With 27 points in 27 games last year, Hansen looks poised to definitely surpass his career best totals in goals and assists in 2013/14. Look for 45-50 points from the Dane this season and maybe close to 20 goals!
Re: Hansen Extended: 4 Years, $10M
$2.5 mill/yr for a good 3rd line winger who can pot 10-15 goals is a good deal no matter what - and that's the basement of what I think Hansen can bring to the team this year. He's pretty durable, has skill and tenacity and I think he will flourish under Torts.
Same contract as Higgins, but for some reason I like this one better.

Reasonably good value for Hansen`s contribution.
He`s an honest player who is improving.

Less Canucks embarrassment please.
Re: Hansen Extended: 4 Years, $10M
I love this signing. This is a much better deal than Higgins' given Hansen's age and durability (touch wood). Hansen is a keeper. I'm not a fan of having Hansen with the Sedins and I'm not sold on Hansen being a full-time 2nd line producer, but I love having Hansen on the team. He deserves this extension.
Re: Hansen Extended: 4 Years, $10M
Higgins is smarter than Hansen. However, Hansen's speed gives him the advantage. Both Higgins and Hansen are great 3rd liners that can move up to the top-six without looking lost.Lancer wrote:$2.5 mill/yr for a good 3rd line winger who can pot 10-15 goals is a good deal no matter what - and that's the basement of what I think Hansen can bring to the team this year. Oh, I like Higgins' contract for the same reasons as you. I just like Hansen's better due to his age.Jovocop wrote:Higgins is smarter than Hansen. However, Hansen's speed gives him the advantage. If one of the trio (Santorelli, Dalpe, or Richardson) can centre the third line, it would be a pretty good checking line with some scoring capability.Lancer wrote:Oh, I like Higgins' contract for the same reasons as you.
