I'm not being negative when I contend that replacing 100% of fossil fuel use worldwide tomorrow with power of unicorn farts is unlikely. I'm simply being realistic. So are Reefer and Mondi.

OK, let's see what the roster looks like to start the season. I contend there will be some major changes.

In fact, I think it's unrealistic to assume there won't be.

If you knew anything about Reef's history you'd know pessimism is a way of life for him... when we were winning Presidents Trophies the rhetoric was pretty much the same.

Yawn and yet I am right.

1) We have good players so MG is probably hoping a coach change is all that is needed, plus rid of the Luongo distraction
2) MG has stated he does not ask player to be traded who have NTC/NMC or what ever
3) MG in all his time here has not made any big trades (sometimes this is hard to do in the current NHL)
4) Maybe a core change is not needed if he signs the right FA (asshole or 2)

Put this and other things all together and it means very little will change on the core. Not negative at all but maybe because I believe differently someone like you just relies on you standard schtick???

It's June 28th and you're right? Awesome stuff Reefster.

LOL.

The rest of your sentence makes very little sense. Maybe tone it down on the 151 before posting next time.

I consider the following to be "big" trades:

2nd/3rd for Steve Bernier
White/Rahimi for Ehrhoff/Lukowich
Grabner/Bernier/1st for Ballard/Oreskovich
Samuelsson/Sturm for Booth
Hodgson/Sulzer for Kassian/Gragnani

What does it take for you to consider it a big trade?

So in essence you're saying it's IMPOSSIBLE that the Canucks acquire Letang.

And you're saying that equates to being "realistic"??

Maybe Hodgson but can any of those compare to trading Edler?

Ballard now does not look like a big trade but an overpayment.

All the above really were spare parts for spare parts.

Edit - well that was weird, my post got blended in your quotes

Championship teams build through the draft and supplement the edges through trades.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Hodgson... but you don't consider trading any 1st round pick to be a big trade? Or acquiring Ehrhoff?

You and I obviously have different ideas of what constitutes a big trade.

(I hope Rumsfeld is happy.)

From my point of view a straight up trade of Edler, signed for eternity, for Letang with one year left, would be a fair deal.

But I don't see MG making Letang the highest paid player on the team even though he was willing to give that honour to Weber. Now if Pitt let us talk to Letang first and we got a deal worked out then I could see giving more than Edler.
The only HW the Canucks need
