^ Burrows for three goal Jones? I don’t think so! Not sure I’d give up Booth!

Yeah, Spidey and his harebrained schemes.Aaronp18 wrote:Well I agree with you but those other two seem to think Gillis should have been in on this package!Rumsfeld wrote: I personally wouldn't give up a wet fart to aquire O'Brien.
Jones sure, but we'd probably be looking at giving up Burrows.
I don't know what else Colorado would want from us.
Burrows seems a tad steep.
Not that I'd be adverse to trading Burrows for the right player/pick... quite the contrary.
What sucks is that I have a soft spot for the biter because he's scored some of the biggest goals in franchise history... and I received a shiny new Burrows jersey as a gift last summer (I wanted Kesler).
Spidey apparently also has a soft spot. On the top of his head.

Messier issues terse statement cutting all tie with the NYR. Feels snubbed that he didn't get the coaching job.
The only HW the Canucks need
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Maybe COL was insistent on turfing O'Brien, that's why Gillis has no interest!RoyalDude wrote:Who's talking O'Brien?Aaronp18 wrote:So out of curiosity, who would you two have given up to acquire Jones and O'Brien?Arachnid wrote:
I agree a local kid would be best.
As for who I would give up for Jones? Anything, how about a reprieve from hearing the constant stories of the day Arachnid finally made it over the rainbow and found his beloved Pom poms
Tanguay is a ligitimate asset who was stuck in the duldrum that is Calgary. To match their offer we'd have to give up something decent.
I'm just trying to figure out why you and Spidey think Gillis was asleep on this one. Especially after the horrendous season Jones had!

Nice to see he's still all about the team.Hockey Widow wrote:Messier issues terse statement cutting all tie with the NYR. Feels snubbed that he didn't get the coaching job.

He has no coaching experience whatsoever but he was good friends with Gary Coleman.

Yikes, hope the forced move to Cowtown doesn't drive SOB and Jonesie to drink.SKYO wrote: Flames announce trade of Tanguay and Sarich to Colorado for Shane O'Brien and David Jones.

TSN is reporting that Letang has turned down $56M over 8 years. Apparently he's worth more than $7M?
I really don't know who is going to give him more than that.

There has to be a reason... who turns down 58m and asks for 63?
BTW, NOT A FLAME ... JUST AN OBSERVATION ...

No way Letang's worth more than 7, especially with a shrinking cap.
Terrific offensively, pretty meh defensively and not very physical. And it doesn't hurt your point totals playing with Crosby, Malkin and Neal on that first unit PP.
