Do they still get paid?
During the ref strike the NHL hired replacement officials and went on with the games.
What about the referee's and linesmen during a strike?

i don't know if they get paid or not, but jeez...hopefully, they saved enough money from last year's wages to get through. after all, ref's salaries start at $110,000 and 15 year vets get $235,000. as well, i think a lot of them have other jobs and businesses on the side. if they're broke, i guess they can apply for UI...
oops; i'm kind of getting off topic.
i guess i'm just getting excited about posting for the first time since the boards got changed...

Lets be honest there's more than just Ref's and linesmen that will suffer. Many in the NHL and the team offices have been told aLREADY that they're toast come the revolution. I don'y feel to bad about the players or in fact the ref's more the parking lot attendant. They have mortgages they're cling ing on to and family responsabilities
cheers
Very true Fred, for a month and a half the two big concrete companies in Kelowna were on strike. It cost alot of tradesmen, builders, and regular people alot of money.Fred wrote:Lets be honest there's more than just Ref's and linesmen that will suffer.
