Re: CHI v. LA and BOS v. PIT (and Van v. ...Beuller...anybod
It certainly wasn't an accidental high sticking. He intended to whack him with his stick. That much is obvious. I would believe he never intended to whack him in the face but I don't believe the whole incident was accidental. To me then he has to accept 100% responsibility for the outcome.
Now Shanny will probably say that even though Carter had to get stitched up no injury resulted on the play. He will probably say Keith was off balance and didn't really mean to make contact and that the penalty on the ice was sufficient.
As a repeat offender that got off lightly on the Sedin assassination attempt I think he should be gone for the playoffs. I will be surprised if the NHL even considers it further to be honest.

Sportsnet now confirming that Keith WILL face a disciplinary hearing later the afternoon. Sounds like he will get at least 2 games.

As much as I hate the guy as a hawk, I can't see how it's even remotely the same as mcsorely.
That was basically an unprovoked two handed chop to the side of the head of an unsuspecting brashear...
This incident should come with a short suspension maybe a game or two at most. but it was provoked by a chop at his hand while trying to pick up his glove. Carter was not innocent and had to expect a retaliation for his actions as well.
Ah fuck Em both I say

TSN maggots arguing that he gets 0 games suspension, unreal, he is a repeat dick offender, shows that everyone has a blind spot for some teams while easily ignoring other legit complaints like the Sedin penalty this year.Lancer wrote:+1Island Nucklehead wrote:He should get the rest of the series. Torres got suspended for the remainder of a series for less.
Knowing it's the NHL, I'll say he gets nothing.
The league doesn't have the balls to fuck with one of its favourites and suspend Keith.
...and the league's integrity takes another blow. How low can it go?
Fucking bullshit if he doesn't get at least 2. If none I will not watch anymore games this year even if the Pens make it to the Final.

He should get one game for the incident and one for being a repeat offender.Arachnid wrote:Fucking bullshit if he doesn't get at least 2. If none I will not watch anymore games this year even if the Pens make it to the Final.
He'll probably just get one game though.
If he gets no games it could be months before we see donny here again.
2011..... the one that got away.

I haven't watched a game in the second round. Just not doing it for me, I hate all the teams for various reasons. That said, I love great hockey if there was a great Final I would want to tune it in (especially if it was a game 7 like in the first rounds) but if the bush league continues it's crap then it's actually really easy to tune it out...ukcanuck wrote:Lol Donny's threats are slightly more credible than spider'sEddy Punch Clock wrote:He should get one game for the incident and one for being a repeat offender.Arachnid wrote:Fucking bullshit if he doesn't get at least 2. If you saw the cut to the panel during SportsCenter last night, the circles they went in to defend Keith were truly unreal. "It was clearly an accident" was said several times. I've never seen the favoritism so clearly on display before.Arachnid wrote: TSN maggots arguing that he gets 0 games suspension, unreal, he is a repeat dick offender, shows that everyone has a blind spot for some teams while easily ignoring other legit complaints like the Sedin penalty this year.
The slash was intentional, even Keith admitted that, and although some may make the argument the specific point of contact was accidental, the NHL has *never* given that argument any merit. That's like saying you can cold-cock a guy in the face, but if he happens to fall as a result, and accidentally break his neck, it should be forgiven... umm... yeah.
What I don't get as well is the penalty on the ice. It happened right in front of the ref, who saw it, and rightfully gave him 4 minutes, but how is that not a game misconduct?
Every time I look out my window, same three dogs looking back at me.
Re: CHI v. LA and BOS v. PIT (and Van v. ...Beuller...anybod
Pretty much. I likened it to McSorley's hack on Brashear only in that it was an intentional slash that contacted the head, targeted body area doesn't matter. I don't think Keith should be gone for a calendar year, but at some point the message needs to be sent, and sent is a manner that drives the point home to everyone. Recklessness, thoughtlessness, and retaliation, will not be tolerated. These guys are adults. Treat them as such.ukcanuck wrote:As much as I hate the guy as a hawk, I can't see how it's even remotely the same as mcsorely.

What message does this send to young hockey players, who idolize these over paid babies, if Keith gets a slap on the wrist and nothing more?

Or never trust the NHL head office
Or better yet if you chop your stick at a guys bare hand expect a stick back in your face?
No actually the lesson to be learned work on your left crossovers cause the pay is WAY better in pro hockey than just about any other career

Have not watch much hockey this playoff but watching Boston/Pitts I forgot what exciting hockey looks like.
The Canucks are nothing like the last 4 teams in excitement and skill.

I highly doubt they are, but I sure hope the Sedins are watching this round of the playoffs from their Ikea bunk beds.
It might give them some inkling of what you need from your skill players to win in the NHL playoffs.

Holy shit Campbell broke his leg, kept playing on his shift.
Is now out for the season.
Ref's don't have to let the Bruins win now.
